Hi there, I'm looking for data on the US investments market (Mutual funds, retirement accounts, Govt. Bonds, life assurance etc.) Specifically, I'd like to find out: - The value of investments sold in the US in 2001 - split by product - The value of investments sold in the US in 2001 - split by channel of sale (e.g. Direct, bank, advisor)) - Total retail funds under management (2001) - Typical initial charges / annual management fees - Annual revenues for e.g. manufacturers, advisors, banks, brokers etc. - Typical commission levels paid to advisors A good example of the kind of info (Although this is UK data) I'd like can be found at: http://www.investmentfunds.org.uk/press/2002/stats/stats1002.htm I'll pay for either great sources that aggregate industry data, or specific answers to the above questions with sources. Links to sites that provide individual numbers are unlikely to be satisfactory. Thanks in advance, Dave |

I suggest trying Plunkett's Financial Services Industry Almanac. It is available for purchase through their website: http://www.plunkettresearch.com/finance/financial_almanac.htm It is also available in e-book format. If you don't want to purchase it, check with your local university library. I would be surprised if your question can be answered through Google Answers. It is a research-involved question, and in the private sector, an information brokerage can charge upwards of $100/hour for this type of research. |
