Hi, ace123 --

How many cities would be sufficient for a good answer? I've found
several, but I'd like to know how many you need before posting an
answer.

I want events occurring in major market areas (surrounding suburbs or
the cities themselves)in particular New York metro, Boston, Balt/Wash
DC, Miami, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, L.A., San Francisco, Portland and
Seattle. If you can find events occurring in at least four or five of
these areas that would be great. If you can find more than that I
will be VERY appreciative.

Hello -

I have contacted the French Alliance headquarters in most of the major
cities you are interested in, and all have confirmed that formal
citywide Bastille Day festivities have not been finalized yet. They
suggest contacting them after the beginning of the year.

I have a list of contacts that can give you EXACT dates and details of
all formal Bastille Day city celebrations in the following cities:

Miami
Washington D.C.
Fort Lauderdale
New Orleans
San Francisco
Portland
Seattle
Boston

In addition, I have a list of a few local Bastille Day events in
Boston, San Francisco, Miami, and New York.

As festivities in most of the cities you are referring to are not
finalized yet, I will not post an answer and receive payment for it
unless you confirm that you are interestd in the information I can
provide:

+ contact info for the French Alliance in the major cities above that
can provide EXACT details on festivities in those cities in a few
months, AND
+ the local event info I was able to collect on my own.

Please let me know if you would like me to post my answer with the
information I have above.

Thank you.

Are you saying that the French Alliance contacts have confirmed there
will be Bastille day events/activities, but have no firm plans yet?
If the answer above is yes, then I would like to receive the
information you found for both the French Alliance contacts and the
other local celebrations.

In short, yes, but I want to be clear:

The organizations I have contacted in each of the cities below have
all said that it is too early to confirm any details of events.
However they have all referenced details (locations, festivities) of
past events indicating that they plan to hold or release details for
similar events in 2003. (For example, in San Francisco, there is an
annual event on Bush street in the "French Quarter", which will likely
go on as it has for years past, but at present, there are no details
around it because no one has planned the 2003 event yet.)

In other cases (e.g., Miami) it is just a matter of the French Embassy
being allowed first rights to plan Bastille Day festivities. Thus,
other Bastille Day celebrations will follow after the primary city
celebrations are planned.

It varies from city to city. As we are a good 8 months away from
Bastille Day, few cities have confirmed much, but those that I spoke
to have confirmed that calling back around the new year should afford
far more detail on any celebration plans in that city.

As I mentioned, I can offer you these cities' contact info, as well as
whatever events I could dig up - sponsored privately, for the most
part - for Boston, San Francisco, Miami, and New York.

Sorry for delaying posting this info - I just don't want to post it
unless you are happy with paying for the above information. Please let
me know if this is acceptable.

Hello,

Formal Bastille Day festivities in many of the major cities you
specify have not been finalized yet. However, after contacting a
number of the cities' French Alliance headquarters, I discovered that
more detail on any Bastille Day festivities may be available after the
beginning of the year. You should get in touch with the French
Alliance in cities listed below in early 2003, after that city has
finalized Bastille Day plans, for further information.

Google Answers does not permit posting of contact information, so
please refer to the websites below in early 2003:
