HI Justeen, Since we've been corresponding, I have been given the privilege of being a researcher. As such, I'm going to post my comment as an answer. Regards, revb Comments paste: There's a website which sells parts for older cars. It's owned by Obsolete Ford Parts, Inc. in Oklahoma Obsolete Ford Parts http://www.fairlane.obsoletefordparts.com/ E-mail address: info@obsoletefordparts.com Toll-free phone: 1-800-654-3247 Give them a call, or perhaps have your mechanic do it, and describe what you need. Hopefully they can supply the valve or know who can. Also, another site which probably will be even better, from McDonald's Obsolete Parts Company. This company offers a 'parts locator' service at: http://www.mcdonaldparts.com/locate.html You'll see a form which you can fill out on-line and submit to them, but the form doesn't work if you're browsing with Microsoft Internet Explorer. In that case they provide an e-mail address -- click on the blue highlighted link 'e-mail' to do that and include the information required on the form. Other contact information: Obsolete Parts Company RR#3 Box 94 Rockport, IN 47635 Research # (812) 359-4965 FAX # (812) 359-5555 Toll-free # (800) 897-8693 I didn't find anything for West Hollywood, but the toll free numbers are a nice bonus and UPS, etc. can get the part to you in a short time. I would offer to make these calls or send the e-mail enquiries, but almost certainly I'd be asked a question about what you need to which I'd have no answer. Doing it yourself will be more efficient and less time-consuming. Personally, I'd have my mechanic call, or print out that form and take it to him so you're sure that you have everything they might need to know to find the valve. I'd like to know how you make out, if that's ok with you. Good luck! -- and regards, :) revbrenda1st |

Hi Justeen, I'm a granny, not a mechanic, but it so happens 'gramps' IS a mechanic. First thing he wants to know is if the vehicle a truck or a car? Do you want the original part or a part that will function? If you want to keep it original, you'll need to check with antique automotive dealers. If you want a part to make your vehicle functional, you should be able to adapt a part from a more recent vehicle. Try to find one from the year nearest after 1970, then find a mechanic who can adapt the lines to fit it and get it installed. Check with antique dealers, local scrap yards and auto wreckers.By the way, in what part of what country do you live? Regards, revbrenda1st |

Dear "Granny". I'm 65 yrs. & still trying to learn to use a computer!!! My 1970 Ford Torino is a passenger car, a 2 door coup. Re: id 99631 IT Is NOT A 1970 cOBRA OR A 1970 GT.. iT'S THE 3RD ONE, it starts with the letter "F" and a number after it. My mechnic is very leary about using anything other than the actual part, not something jerryriged to fit. That's why I'm blowing a big ten bucks to find the real thing. I'm not able to get around very well, so am trying not to go the junk yard route. Besides, if I do find one at a junk yard, it might not work any better than the one I've got!!! I'm hoping that SOMEONE is manufacuring these old parts for antique car collectors.PP aRE YOU going to continue to look or is it unattainable??? Justeen |

Hi Justeen, Yes, I got every message but only just now. Since I'm not 'officially' a researcher I don't check in here as often as others do. As long as YOU can see your comments when you make then, so can everyone else. Alright, about that proportioning valve. There's a website which sells parts for older cars.
