Question ID: 99994
I prepare about 5-6 Powerpoint presentations for a technical audience
in the computer networking field. Where can I get clip art to liven
up these presntations? For example I am working on one in the area of
computer forensics. I would like a magnifying glass, the scales of
justice, etc. What are the best web sites or other resources for
this?? I expect the answer from someone who does a lot of
presentations and knows the best resources for someone like me. I
would like to do my own presentations and not hire an art work firm.

Dear fwscholl-ga;

I too share a common responsibility with you in that I am often
creating PowerPoint presentations for use as technical training aids,
public speaking engagements and presentation of proposals. Due to the
nature of my work I am often seeking fresh, appealing images related
to matters in the criminal justice field.

I am providing you with links to many of the sources that I find most
useful in my line of work. Here you will find, not only the ones you
mentioned, but also thousands of others that will come in handy at a
later date perhaps. I have noticed that the majority of the images I
need usually come from searches using the search terms mentioned
below. Additionally, if you locate a particular image, it has been my
experience that the owner of the image will often grant you limited
usage rights for your presentation provided you ask for the favor well
in advance and offer the owner a small font credit on the final slide
of your presentation (and that’s never been a problem because most
viewers don’t stick around after it’s over to read the credits
anyway).

Many of these links are also categorized for easy reference. You will
find just about any topic you need. Animations work particularly well,
provided they do not make any sound or create a distraction. Some of
the images you mentioned specifically are included here, in both
static and animated form.

I wish you luck in your work. I hope you find this research useful.

Best regards;
Tutuzdad-ga
