Hi, I'm looking for the Arabic translation of the name "Melody" in written English. Here's an example: http://egyptian-arabian.com/names/EnglishM-Q.shtml I'm not looking for how it's written in Arabic. Thanks in advance! |

I think you are unlikely to find the answer, and any answer you do find is likely to be unreliable. Melody comes from the Greek, as you likely know. So, you can get a translation for the Greek meaning of Melody (Melodia, or 'of song' translated into Arabic), but you won't find a unique Arabic meaning. If you want an Arabic name that sort of matches the meaning of your English name, one might be: 'Alimah' (skilled in music). Does this make sense? Lukas |

If this is on the right track, Shaadiya ('singer') is also a decent equivalent. |

Lukas: Your alternate suggestions will work, thank you. Now, how do I pay you for answering? Sorry, I'm new to this. Thanks again! |
