Most police cars, (DON'T CALL 911) carry "slim-jims" that can be used to jimmy car locks open. You'd have to prove that it was her car though, and not all policemen will do this for you instead advising that you call a locksmith (which can charge anywhere betweeen $20 and $75) to unlock the door. Keys for cars are coded. Upon getting the key code from the dealer, you can have a replacement key made. My wife's Saturn (also a 1995) came with three keys, including one plastic key that fit in her wallet. The plastic key was fragile enough that it worked only once. Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |
