Hello Hbekkar and thank you for your question.

The horsepower of the 1934 Ford V-8 engine was at 85 in 1934.

Here are a few short excerpts from the article “History – Worlds
Greatest Cars – Ford V8” with reference to the horsepower of the Ford
V8 during the 1930īs.

1931 – 65 horsepower

“The engineers embarked on a blitzkrieg campaign to develop a
marketable V-8 engine at a Ford price. Of course, in that era only a
few very expensive marques offered eight-cylinder engines, and only a
handful of them used the "V" configuration. Most were straight-8's, a
less sophisticated arrangement, and one that was unsuited to
low-priced, short-wheelbase Fords. (..) Starting at ground zero they
designed a 221 cubic inch power plant that delivered 65 horsepower at
3400 rpm.”

1932 - 65 horsepower

The new V-8-powered Ford car was unveiled on March 31, 1932.

“The public was clamoring for the car based on its combination of good
performance and low price. On the strength of its 65-horsepower
"cast-iron wonder" the Model 18 had a top speed of 78 miles per hour
and significantly better acceleration that the typical car of its
era.”

1933 - 75 horsepower

“For 1933, Ford entered the world of the annual model change, The V-8
was significantly revamped, remedying some of its early teething
problems and giving it an addition 10 horsepower (to 75.)”

1934 - 85 horsepower

“Incremental improvement would continue throughout the Thirties.
Horsepower was bumped up again to 85 in 1934. In 1936 Ford cars
outsold Chevrolet for the first time in nearly a decade on the
strength of some very attractive body styles.”

Popular Mechanics discusses the horsepower of the V8 as well.

“When the first Ford V8s went on sale on Mar. 31, 1932, (..) The
initial horsepower rating was 65 (five more than the archival
Chevrolet Confederate), which promised a 75-mph top speed in the
lightest open-body styles. (..) Fortunately, the Flathead's reputation
was salvaged by subsequent refinements to the cylinder heads and
cooling system, and its snappy performance earned even more praise as
output increased to 75 hp in 1933, 85 hp in 1934 and 90 hp in 1941.
Given a displacement increase from 221 to 239 cu. in., postwar models
offered 100 hp from 1946-51 and 110 hp from 1952-53.”
