Question ID: 119889
I was searching the web and came across a site in the UK mentioning
the Youngest Top 40 Acts

http://www.everyhit.com/record3.html

It was: Microbe. Real name Ian Doody, he was just 3 years old when he
took "Groovy Baby" to no. 29 in 1969!

Natalie Casey was the same age when her 1984 track "Chick Chick
Chicken" was released but it stalled at no. 72.

My question: Where can I find these songs on MP3?

Thank you izzard-ga for your interest in this question.

No, I am trying to listen to what they sound like. However, I may be
interested in such a selling service.

Hi Brudenell,

I located a place where you can hear the song “Chick Chick Chicken” in
MP3 or Real Audio, although it is not sung by Natalie Casey. I have a
short biography of Natalie Casey as well.

In addition, I found two articles mentioning a different origin of the
“Groovy Baby” song. The “Groovy Baby” 45 record can be bought for 15
dollars.

Would you be interested in this information as an answer?

Thanks

Dear Brudenell,

Here is the information I assembled.

Chick Chick Chicken lyrics:

“Chick chick chick chick chicken
Lay a little egg for me
Chick chick chick chick chicken
I want one for my tea
I haven't had one since breakfast
And now it's half past three
So, chick chick chick chick chicken
Lay a little egg for me”

At the “Tweenies Website” you can hear the song “Chick Chick Chicken”
in MP3 or Real Audio, although it is not sung by Natalie Casey.

At the Best Bits of Britcom website, I located a real audio recording
of Dawn French as Mrs. Hat singing “Chick, chick, chicken” in the Mrs.
Hat & Mrs. Red episode from the TV program “Murder Most Horrid”.

Biography: Natalie Casey

“Natalie made a record when she was just 3 years old called Chick
Chick Chicken which she performed on the morning kids show 'Saturday
Superstore' and 'Top of The Pops'.”

“Natalie has appeared in many adverts and as done a few modeling jobs.
Her first TV role was as Carol Groves in Hollyoaks when she was 15.
At the beginning of 1998 she met her current boyfriend Jason Kavanagh
who played Luke Musgrove in Brookside. In 1999 she starred in the
Double Take Brookside as Moria. Natalie quit Hollyoaks in 2000 and we
saw her character Carol take a job on a cruise ship and sail off into
the sunset. Natalie filled in as guest presenter for MTV. Natalie also
co-presented on the Big Brother gossip show 'Big Brothers Little
Brother' with Dermot O'Leary for the first week.”

=============================================

The song “Groovy Baby” by Microbe appears to be a studio creation by
David Cash.

“David Cash went on to present two regular shows for RTL Radio
Luxembourg, then he joined BBC Radio 1 at the launch, originally
presenting former BBC Light Programme's lunchtime shows Monday Monday,
Pop Inn, Parade of the Pops, Pop North. He had a hit in 1969 when he
released a single 'Groovy Baby', under the name 'Microbe' (a character
from his afternoon programme).

Offshore Radio also attributes “Groovy Baby” to Dave Cash.

“After medical problems forced him to leave Radio London in 1966, Dave
hosted some shows on Radio Luxembourg. When Radio One opened the
following year, he was one of the initial line-up of presenters. He
enjoyed a Top Thirty hit Groovy Baby under the alias of “Microbe”, a
character from his afternoon programme. He also fronted a television
show, The Dave Cash Radio Programme, and, with Tommy Vance and Kenny
Everett, presented on Radio Monte Carlo International.”

Groovy Baby was “probably a studio creation. This was a gimmick disc.
The singers on the 'A' side have baby-like high voices. The flip side
was an instrumental credited to The Microbop Ensemble.”
