Could you also let me know about the smaller cell phone operators like
Western Wireless and US Cellular, as well as the other smaller rural
operators. Also, could you also tell me which regions or cities that
all the cell phone operators are cuurently rolling out new equipment
or expanding their networks in? And, what are the license
requirements for coverage, and on air dates that the operators must
meet.

Thanks.

"CC Communications is part of the CC Communications family of
companies and is owned and operated by Churchill County. Every year we
contribute approximately $1.3 million in lieu of taxes to the General
County Fund. This is an important source of revenue for the County’s
Operating and Capital Improvement Budget which benefits all Churchill
County residents. If Churchill County did not exist (or was privately
owned), the county would have to increase property taxes to recover
our contribution. For example, the owner of a $115,000 home would
receive an annual property tax increase of $140.00!
In addition to the $1.3 million we contribute to the County, we spend
another $1.1 million with local business. We also donate more than
$100,000 each year to local charities and organizations."

"Enhancing people's lives through wireless communications is our
mission at CellularOne. As a leading wireless communications company
in San Luis Obispo County, we use the most advanced and progressive
technology to provide the products and services customers desire.
Since opening our doors to SLO County wireless customers in 1995, our
vibrant, privately owned company has become the fastest growing
network in the area, adding more cell sites than any other wireless
provider on the Central Coast. CellularOne provides access to one of
the largest digital and analog networks in the country and was the
first on the Central Coast to offer Digital PCS - the latest
breakthrough in wireless communications.
CellularOne recently experienced a major milestone with the
implementation of our new digital switching center. This $5 million
investment includes a new switch, as well as a new voicemail system
and mobile messaging center. The new digital platform will benefit our
customers in many ways. It will enable us to offer new voice and data
services and features; provide better reporting of billing
information; and enhance our response time to network issues. Our
customers now receive a more efficient and higher level of customer
service than ever before."

"At CellularOne, we believe the most important characteristics of a
cellular network are coverage, reliability, call quality and features.
The design and evolution of our network reflects our commitment to
that belief.
With new cell towers, like the one near the West Virginia Wood
Technology Center along 11th Street in Elkins, and others at Rich
Mountain, Buckhannon and Elliot's Ridge, our network of cell sites
continues to grow, offering increased coverage and more reliable
service. Our cellular system now includes 27 sites, with 3 under
contruction and 12 more anticipated by the end of 2002.
This commitment to superior coverage is matched by our committment to
the reliability and quality of our network. We continue to upgrade our
switch, the powerful computer that runs the network, to offer our
customers the latest features, including digital coverage and Enhanced
911 services. To ensure the highest level of reliability, our switch
is 100% redundant. This means that there are two identical switches,
side by side which alternate in and out of service in order to ensure
the highest possible level of uninterrupted service. Our switch was
designed to support our on-going network expansion and easily
accommodates additional cell sites.
In addition, CellularOne is part of the North American Cellular
Network. NACN is an association of cellular companies who maintain
connections between their networks. This enables our customers to send
and receive calls automatically, whether they are in their home area
or travelling to other parts of the state or the nation.
CellularOne's decision, years ago, to provide the best, most reliable
Cellular Network in central West Virginia has resulted in a superior
service for our customers and is part of an on-going commitment that
drives how we do business.
We're pulling out all the stops to insure that our network, our
service and our people continue to provide you with the kind of
high-value cellular experience you have come to expect. When you need
wireless phone service . . . you can rely on CellularOne."

http://wireless.dobson.net/
"With an eye on the past and two feet firmly planted in the future,
Dobson Communications continues nearly 70 years of supplying
telecommunication services to its customers.

Dobson Communications is truly an American success story. Born in
Dust-Bowl-era Oklahoma in 1936, the company that began with a single
landline telephone exchange now brings cutting-edge wireless
technologies to a customer base stretching from the golden shores of
California to New York, and from Alaska to the seashores of Maryland.

Today's Dobson Communications Corporation, under the leadership of
Chairman, CEO & President, Everett R. Dobson, the third generation of
the family to head the company, serves a population base of 11.4
million. Owning or operating wireless markets in more than 60 rural
and metropolitan service areas in 17 states, the company has assembled
one of the most respected executive teams in any industry that has
focused on capital expenditures, development of distribution channels
and philanthropic giving. The result is thousands of dollars
reinvested into the communities served by Dobson Communications
through both the creation of new jobs as well as support of worthwhile
causes.

Since its initial investment in the cellular industry in 1990, Dobson
Communications has strategically acquired a series of wireless markets
through acquisition and joint ventures that have given the company the
ability to research, develop and market to its customers technologies
only dreamed of ten years ago.

Today's Dobson Communications Corporation continues to lead the way
for the telecommunications industry, now focused on developing 3G
services that will provide wireless data services at high speeds."

management team have extensive operational experience and have worked
successfully with each other in the past. From the top down, everyone
in the organization has operational experience and understands how to
provide mobile wireless customers with the service and quality they
want and expect."
http://www.edgewireless.com/about/who.html
"The first phase of our operation is in Eastern Idaho, Southwest
Wyoming, Southern Oregon and Northern California. Edge WirelessSM is
building over 200 cell sites in these properties, bringing "big city
technology" to smaller, rural markets. Edge Wireless' philosophy is to
provide a quality experience for our customers by staffing our stores
with customer service representatives and phone service technicians.
Having this type of staff on location benefits the customer by
allowing us to find solutions in an efficient and timely
manner—whether it's a question about a bill or a phone—Edge Wireless
will work directly with the customer to provide satisfaction. Other
carriers may offer this service by phone only."
http://www.edgewireless.com/about/locations.html
"Edge WirelessSM will leverage the same technology chosen by AT&T
Wireless, Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA). This technology is
proven, as it was the first digital format used in the industry and it
has a solid roadmap leading to 3rd generation technologies. This
format will enable Edge Wireless customers to utilize the same
features, phones and call capability AT&T Wireless uses in their
markets. Edge will offer voice privacy, enhanced features and improved
messaging capability to markets where these features may not have been
available. We have constructed and developed our state-of-the-art
all-digital system to serve our customer's portable handsets. Unlike
current cellular carriers who are attempting to retrofit their
outdated analog systems to digital, our system was designed to be
digital from the start."

"Einstein PCS is your local wireless phone service provided by
Airadigm Communications, Inc. of Little Chute, Wisconsin. ....With 15
licenses in Wisconsin and Iowa, we concentrated our efforts on
developing its PCS network in small- and medium-sized cities like
Green Bay, the Fox Cities, Stevens Point, Madison and Wausau. As
small-town residents ourselves, our Airadigm team is uniquely attuned
to the concerns of rural communities regarding tower construction and
transmitter location. Just as importantly, we are aware of what such
communities are looking for in terms of wireless communications
features and services. That's why we selected the Global System for
Mobile (GSM) communications, the local network technology that has
already been proven in more than 140 countries worldwide and provides
nationwide coverage to cities here in the United States."

"EPIC TOUCH CO. is a family business, which has been providing
communications service to Elkhart Telephone Company customers since
1956.  Elkhart Telephone Company is a proven provider of quality,
advanced communications services.  In 1984 Elkhart Telephone Company
installed digital switching and the longest unrepeated fiber network
in the nation.  Elkhart Telephone Company continued to upgrade its
services to the latest technology so its customers could benefit from
the technology advancements.  The owners of Elkhart Telephone Company,
Bob and Dian Boaldin, purchased the local cable company in 1978 and
immediately upgraded the system to provide a greater variety of video
entertainment.  Elkhart TV Cable Co. continued to develop the cable
system and establish a reputation for quality cable television
service.  In 1994 EPIC TOUCH CO. opened a Radio Shack store in
Elkhart, KS.  In the early 1990s the owners saw the need to provide
data and wireless services as communications began to noticeably move
to the new media.  The owners also realized the need to expand their
market area in order to succeed and prosper as a communications
provider.  Entering new markets required a new name for the company so
Elkhart Telephone Company and Elkhart TV Cable Co. services have been
marketed as EPIC TOUCH CO. since 1996.  EPIC TOUCH CO. has established
itself in the Elkhart area as a proven voice, video and data provider.
EPIC TOUCH CO. was one of the first to provide Internet service to
rural America and to provide high speed Digital Subscriber Line based
service with its deployment in 1997.  In 2000, EPIC TOUCH CO. built a
wireless PCS network (community cordless) in southwest Kansas and the
Oklahoma panhandle.  In 2000, EPIC TOUCH CO. also opened
communications product retail stores in Guymon, OK and Liberal, KS."

"At ETEX Telephone, we never forget the fact that we are something
more that a company. We are a cooperative. We operate on a non-profit
basis, so we share our success with the people who support us like
Emma Allred, who has been an ETEX Telephone customer for more than 25
years.
That makes you something more than a customer. You are a member of our
cooperative, an investor in our success. YOU are, in fact, one of our
co-owners. As such, you share in a rich heritage of independent
service.
That heritage dates back nearly 50 years. In 1949, the U.S. Congress
created the Rural Electrification Administration, which authorized
low-cost loans to assist in the formation of rural telephone systems
like ours. In 1952, ETEX Telephone was founded by a group of East
Texas residents with a clear mission: to provide reliable
telecommunications an a region that was not being served by
profit-oriented telephone companies.
Over the years, we have worked diligently to fulfill our mission. We
have introduced state-of-the art technology, ranging from features
like Caller ID to services like Internet access. Above all, we have
maintained our independent identity.
With your ongoing support, we can equal---and even surpass---the
larger telephone companies. We are proud to provide our community with
quality service and advanced technology. As a cooperative member you
deserve to share our pride. Working together we will continue to play
a major role in East Texas. "

ILLINOIS VALLEY CELLULAR
200 Riverfront Drive
Marseilles, Illinois 61341
http://www.ivcellular.com/
"Now celebrating its ninth year of operation, Illinois Valley Cellular
is devoted to providing excellent cellular service to the people of
North Central Illinois.

The company serves Illinois RSA 2, an eight county area running from
the Indiana state line to south of Chicago, to near Peoria, Illinois
and then on towards the Iowa state line. The RSA (Rural Service Area)
represents over 250,000 POPS. Serving the counties of LaSalle, Bureau,
Putnam, Marshall, Stark, Livingston, Ford and Iroquois.

Owners of the system include several local telephone companies:
CennComm, Cornell-Ransom Telephone, DePue Telephone, El Paso
Telephone, Gridley Telephone, Leonore Mutual Telephone, McNabb
Telephone, Marseilles Telephone and Tonica Telephone. These companies
have stockholders who have lived and worked throughout the local area
for generations.

Adding strength and diversity are additional partners to Illinois
Valley Cellular - Verizon Wireless and Alltel Communications. A direct
benefit derived from these partnerships include Illinois Valley
Cellular's ability to offer its customers the largest extended local
roaming system.

The major interstates in Illinois play a significant part in the
success of Illinois Valley Celluar. "We are in a unique situation in
our eight county area where we have four interstates, I-80, I-39, I-55
and I-57 , that dissect our RSA. But, unlike some other wireless
providers, Illinois Valley Cellular has concentrated on building
towers to serve the needs of the local communities and the rural
farming community." said Tom Walsh, General Manager.

More and more cellular customers are enjoying the convenience of using
handheld cellular phones to keep in touch with families and business
interests. Increased power and improved capacity, resulting from new
towers, help support this trend. Illinois Valley Cellular continues
its aggressive build-out of the communications network and will, by
year end, have virtually complete handheld coverage with over 30
towers serving the customers of it's serving area.

Finding the right mix for the company's distribution channel is
another challenge. "We are proud to offer the area's most diversified
agent and retail network around. Our customers can obtain service and
receive answer to their questions at over 40 convenient locations,"
Walsh stated. Kiosks are installed within several Wal-Marts,
complementing the network of agent locations.

The company has maintained an in-house billing system since 1994 where
employees are provided with the ability to issue one bill for all of
Illinois Valley Cellular's customers wireless needs including
cellular, long distance and paging. "

"IT&E is one of the most innovative and successful voice and data
communications carriers in the region. In the last decade, IT&E was
reportedly the 4th largest U.S. carrier for international long
distance calling. And today, it continues to provide the best quality
of service while maintaining the highest standards and the latest in
technology.
From an upstart of a quasi-PABX design with only 72 ports in 1983,
IT&E's directors, with undoubtedly mixed talents, were determined to
meet the formidable challenges that lay ahead. Their marketing
geniuses evolved the company into becoming a major player and the most
dominant communications company in Guam. IT&E's network grew to world
class switching systems from notable manufacturers such as AT&T Bell
Labs, Nortel Networks, and Lucent Technologies.
Today, IT&E's switching platforms boast a Lucent 5ESS International
Gateway, a Lucent 5ESS Domestic System, and a Lucent 5ESS Wireless
Switching system. And, with the introduction of our newly installed
Signaling Transfer Point (STP) with digital SS7 signaling— the only
one in this region—IT&E was able to bring the sophisticated technology
of wireless roaming to our island. Combined with ownership in the
undersea fiber optics cables spanning the Pacific and Asia, and
expanding into the fast-paced Internet and Wireless Digital PCS
operations, IT&E is unquestionably the only carrier in this region
with a communications infrastructure that compares the likes of giants
like AT&T, MCI and Sprint. And with its investment into enhanced
wireless facilities with IP switching, IT&E's future will continue to
translate into more success while keeping in pace with the newest
technology of our island.
Certainly, IT&E's presence has preserved Guam's strategic importance
as a communications hub, attracting many multinational companies to
our region."

"Mid-Missouri Cellular today is a result of years of planning and
developing. A partnership was formed in 1989 consisting of Chariton
Valley, Alma, Citizens and Mid-Missouri telephone companies. Their
goal was to help customers integrate new technology with their family
and business. Their application was chosen in the lottery and their
first site went on air in February, 1991. Mid-Missouri Cellular began
with six towers.
Recently, these towers experienced an intense upgrade and modification
to make all cell sites digital. These sites are what actually process
your calls so this procedure will have lasting effects on the way you
use your digital phones. Nearly 700 man-hours and 2.1 million dollars
were involved in the completion of this project. In keeping with our
original goal, the new digital system offers clearer calls to help you
work more efficiently and profitably."

Midwest Wireless

"Based in Mankato Minnesota, Midwest Wireless operates in 68 counties
of Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. Because of these regional roots,
Midwest Wireless is perfectly positioned to determine and meet the
specific communication needs of those in this area.
Midwest Wireless started building its wireless network in Minnesota
back in 1990 when the field of wireless technology was in its infancy.
In 1991 the company introduced Cellular 2000, an analog phone service
recognized as the first wireless service available in rural Minnesota.
In 1998 Midwest Wireless broke new ground again by making its entire
wireless network digital and introducing ClearlyDigital, the first
digital phone service available in many areas of the rural Midwest.
Today most of Midwest Wireless' 250,000+ customers subscribe to our
ClearlyDigital or Realm digital services.
One of the major reasons for the convergence to digital is the many
advanced features available with the technology, including some
pioneered by Midwest Wireless. For example, Midwest Wireless is
credited for being the first rural provider in the nation to offer
two-way text messaging, which means our customers had it before anyone
else. Since that time the popularity of the service has grown and
today Midwest Wireless customers send and receive nearly a million
messages a month.
In recent years, Midwest Wireless has been actively involved in the
next exciting generation of wireless technology - Internet access. In
2001 Midwest Wireless launched a service called ClearWave, which can
provide reliable high-speed wireless Internet access to homes and
businesses in even the remotest areas of the Greater Midwest.
Midwest Wireless continues to develop and test a variety of other
wireless applications and looks forward to continually providing
Midwesterners with the most advanced telecommunications services
available."

"NextWave is in the midst of building the first nationwide,
packet-switched wireless network designed specifically to provide a
combination of high-speed mobile Internet access and high quality
voice service. Based on the Company's operating expertise, technology,
and spectrum assets, NextWave is uniquely positioned to become the
first nationwide provider of third generation (3G) wireless services,
including full-mobility broadband data capability.
This next-generation service will provide "always on," high quality,
and highly affordable full-mobility data connections at peak data
rates above 2 Mbps (average data rates of 700 kbps). The service will
be available on a nationwide basis and will support a wide range of
mobile devices including handheld smartphones, handheld computers,
webpads, net-appliances, and laptop computers. NextWave believes that
the speed and efficiency of its broadband wireless Internet
capabilities will find widespread adoption by consumers and small,
medium, and large businesses that are looking to extend corporate
enterprise solutions into the mobile environment, thereby accelerating
the convergence of computing with wireless communications.
Unlike other wireless operators in the U.S. who market their wireless
products and services directly to end-users, NextWave intends to
operate as a "carriers' carrier" and provide open access to its
advanced 3G wireless network. As a carriers' carrier, the Company will
sell its wireless services at wholesale rates to Mobile Virtual
Network Operator (MVNO) distribution partners who will re-market the
service under their own brand names. NextWave's unique wholesale
distribution strategy will provide telecommunication, media &
entertainment, retail, and financial service companies, which may have
limited or no wireless assets of their own, the ability to market
innovative wireless products and services under their own brand names.
NextWave's network and service offering to its MVNO partners is
designed to permit full MVNO interconnection to the Company's
operating platforms. This will provide the Company's MVNO partners the
ability to easily connect their existing and planned voice and data
switching platforms and backbone networks to NextWave's wireless
facilities. This level of network integration will enable MVNO
companies to customize their wireless services, offer unique
value-added features and functionality, and ensure a proprietary "look
and feel" of their product and customer care services (e.g., customer
support, billing). In addition, outsourced third party "back-office"
services, designed by NextWave, will offer a turn-key solution to MVNO
partners who currently do not possess customer care and provisioning
capabilities, but seek to quickly penetrate the burgeoning full
mobility 3G PCS wireless voice and wireless broadband markets.
\
Market Opportunity
Demand for wireless telecommunications services has continued to grow
rapidly since the commercial introduction of U.S. cellular telephony
in October 1983. This demand is largely attributable to the widespread
availability and increasing affordability of mobile telephony, paging
and other emerging wireless telecommunications services.
While the demand for voice-based wireless telecommunications will
continue to grow rapidly, NextWave believes the greatest opportunity
lies in providing users with the ability to extend their desktop
Internet experience to a broad suite of mobile devices. NextWave
believes the introduction of third generation (3G) wireless network
technology will catalyze the market for high-speed mobile data and
Internet access. NextWave intends to utilize its 3G network to provide
users with broadband mobile access to Internet content and
applications, email, corporate Local Area Networks ("LANs"), Virtual
Private Networks (VPNs), and a broad suite of Mobile E-Commerce
(m-commerce) applications. According to the Strategis Group, an
independent marketing research group, the number of mobile data
subscribers in the U.S. will grow from 5.1 million in 2000 to almost
171 million by 2007. This translates into a compound annual growth
rate greater than 60% during the forecast period. By building a third
generation, packet-switched network optimized for high-speed mobile
data, NextWave will be in a unique position to capture a significant
share of this emerging market.
In addition to high-speed mobile data and Internet access, NextWave
believes that wireless voice will remain an important element of its
business and that the wireless voice market will continue to enjoy
rapid growth. According to Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB), at the
end of 2000 wireless voice subscriber penetration in the United States
was estimated to be 36.9%, with combined annual voice/data revenues of
$49.2 billion. NextWave shares the view that penetration rates and
total wireless industry revenues (voice and data) will continue to
experience dramatic growth through 2008. For example, according to
CSFB, industry penetration is expected to reach 83% by 2008 with
annual industry revenues surpassing $144 billion."

"Pinpoint - Company Profile
Communication, it is the driving force behind the Pinpoint
organization. From digital PCS phones to wireless Internet, Pinpoint
is striving to provide the latest in technological advancements to the
residents of rural Southwest Nebraska.
PCS-
At the beginning of 2000, the area’s only all-digital wireless
communications network consisted of 16 cell sites providing service
from Culbertson to Oxford down to Southern Valley and over to
Wilsonville.
Two new sites were added in the late summer, Hendley and Harry Strunk
Lake. The Hendley site now provides coverage between Wilsonville and
Beaver City. This area has been in need of quality wireless coverage
for many years and Pinpoint is proud to offer this service without the
hassle of roaming fees that most encounter when trying to use a
wireless phone in this area. The second new cell site encompasses
Harry Strunk Lake allowing campers and lake enthusiasts to remain
“connected” while enjoying the great outdoors.
With the recent construction of a 160 feet tower in McCook, coverage
throughout McCook has greatly improved as well as the elimination of a
gap in service near the “Airport Road” and the “State Shop”. A new
directionalized antenna at the Martin Auto Salvage site focuses the
signal for improved highway coverage and eliminates dropped calls that
used to occur along the hilly route between Indianola and McCook.
In January 2001, each cell site was equipped with brand new, higher
wattage radios producing improvement in both signal quality and
in-building penetration. At least three new sites will be added to the
network during 2001 further expanding the coverage territory."

PLATEAU WIRELESS
phone: 1-800-432-2369
http://www.plateautel.com/wireless.cfm
"HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF PLATEAU WIRELESS
Early Beginnings -
Out of the vision of management and the Board at Eastern New Mexico
Rural Telephone Cooperative (ENMR) that was formed in 1949, new
technology and a growing demand for mobile telephone service compelled
the leaders to start a subsidiary operation specifically for this type
of service. Licenses were acquired for the first cellular tower sites
in the New Mexico communities of Clovis and Portales along with one in
the small farming community of Needmore, Texas. These sites were
turned up in November of 1990 under the franchise name, Cellular 3.
Growing Pains -
By the mid-1990s, the wireless operations expanded greatly through
partnership arrangements and other acquisitions throughout large
segments of eastern New Mexico and west Texas. The name was changed to
Plateau Cellular Network during this time frame. Several Rural Service
Areas (RSAs) were created and considered the "home area" for wireless
mobile telephone service with headquarters in Clovis. Among the RSAs
established was RSA 2 that included nearly all or large parts of
Union, Harding, Colfax, and Mora Counties. RSA that included all or
parts of the New Mexico counties of Curry, Quay, Guadalupe, Torrance,
San Miquel, De Baca, and Roosevelt. RSA 6 was hosted by all or parts
of Eddy, Chaves, and Lincoln Counties. Texas counties included in RSA
TX 3 were Parmer, Castro, Swisher, Hale, Lamb, Bailey, Cochran,
Yoakum, Terry, and Hockley. The RSA TX 3 operations were established
under a partnership arrangement with several telephone cooperatives
including West Texas Rural Telephone, Mid-Plains, South Plains, and
Five-Area Telephone Cooperatives. Other far west Texas holdings that
created RSA 12, 13, &14 were sold to Southwestern Bell Telephone in
2000.
Today's Service -
As the wireless business grew during the decade, a new subsidiary name
was established in an effort to bring closer the two operating
companies. In 1998, the name, Plateau Wireless became the subsidiary's
operational name (and product offering) as a part of the broader,
Plateau Telecommunications, Inc. Today there exist 126 cell
sites/towers, 13 retail store locations, and 40 agents who sell the
Plateau Wireless products.
Plateau has maintained an excellent response from its 63,000 customers
in regard to its quality of service and caring for customers. It has
provided rural areas with access to mobile phone service at great
expense during the past dozen years. There is continued prospect for
growth and as demand continues, Plateau will be there with the first
and the best in products and service."

"Poka Lambro - A Native West Texas Company! -
In 1950, a group of visionary West Texans chartered Poka Lambro
Telephone Cooperative, Inc. and established a long-term
commitment to provide reliable rural telephone service using the most
advanced technology available. This commitment has transformed Poka
Lambro
into one of the Southwest's leading telecommunications companies.
Poka Lambro's unique name was created by borrowing portions of the
names of the rural markets around which it served in those days -
POST, TAHOKA, LAMESA AND BROWNFIELD.
Today, Poka Lambro Telephone Cooperative and its subsidiaries provide
quality regulated and deregulated local exchange telephone service,
cellular telephone service, competitive long distance service, PBX and
telephone systems, residential telephone equipment, Internet service

exceptional value in reliable telecommunications products and services
while continuing to utilize the most advanced technology."

"Think of PCS, Personal Communications Services, as the most advanced
wireless communications technology available offering a
"significant" improvement to analog cellular phones.
It is the newest generation of "pure" digital wireless technology
destined to provide affordable total communications for everyone.
Today, PCS is primarily wireless phones, but in the months and years
to come it will support other applications, such as integrated paging,

wireless computing, and many other applications. One of the
significant
improvements that PCS enjoys over analog cellular is added capacity.
What this means to you, is the fast busy signals that you experience
with
today's analog cellular phones has virtually been eliminated.
One added HUGE benefit that PCS offers is crystal clear calling.
Calls that you can actually hear and understand.  In fact, the
following comparison  has been made from analog cellular to genuine
PCS is as great an  improvement to the wireless industry as the music
industries' move  from the vinyl 78 rpm record to CD's. Unlike other
companies that
call their wireless service PCS, Poka Lambro acquired licenses from
the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to provide Genuine PCS to
West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. "

"About Shenandoah Telephone Company
Shenandoah Telecommunications Company is a holding company which
provides telephone service through its subsidiary, Shenandoah
Telephone Company, primarily in Shenandoah County and small service
areas in Rockingham, Frederick, and Warren counties, all in Virginia.
It provides cable television service through its subsidiary,
Shenandoah Cable Television Company, in Shenandoah County. The Company
provides unregulated communications equipment through it subsidiary,
ShenTel Service Company, which sells and maintains PBX's, key systems,
security systems and Internet access.
The Shenandoah Telephone Company finances purchases of
telecommunication facilities and equipment through its subsidiary,
Shenandoah Leasing Company. Shenandoah Mobile Company furnishes
paging, mobile telephone, and cellular telephone services in the
northern Shenandoah Valley. Shenandoah Mobile Company is the managing
general partner of a partnership providing cellular services in
Virginia RSA 10 covering the northwestern portion of Virginia. The
company resells long distance services through Shenandoah Long
Distance Company. Shenandoah Network Company operates and maintains
the Company's interstate fiber optic network.
Under an agreement with American Personal Communications, Shenandoah
Personal Communications Company is building and operating a personal
communications network in the four-state region from Chambersburg,
Pennsylvania to Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Shenanadoah Telephone Company History
Shenandoah Telephone Company had its roots as the Farmer's Mutual
Telephone System (FMTS), which was incorporated on June 9, 1902, in
Shenandoah County, Virginia. Many farmers on the system built and
maintained their own lines, and the Company levied a yearly assessment
which was used to pay the cost of maintaining the company-owned
switchboards located throughout the county.
By 1954, the Shenanadoah Telephone Company served over 3,000
customers. The rural lines were still built and maintained by the
farmers, and as many as 20 subscribers shared one line. That year,
Warren B. French, Jr., became the Shenanadoah Telephone Company's
general manager, and the plan to convert to automatic dial equipment
was implemented. With financial help from the Rural Electrification
Administration (REA), approximately 400 miles of rural lines, 80 miles
of cable within and between towns, and a toll center to handle long
distance calls were built. By 1964 the number of customers per line
was reduced to one, two, or four. Shenandoah Telephone Company began
placing its outside plant facilities underground in the late 1960's.
During this time period, the Shenanadoah Telephone Company wanted to
diversify its services to include cable television and "unregulated"
services. To do this, it was necessary to establish a holding company,
Shenandoah Telecommunications, with operating subsidiaries to meet the
regulations of the Virginia State Corporation Commission. By 1987,
Shenanadoah Telephone Company had completed its all-digital network
system, converting to equal access. This allowed Shenanadoah Telephone
Company's customers to have access to competing long distance
companies.
Today, Shenanadoah Telephone Company has grown to approximately 20,000
access lines, more than 140 employees, and seven subsidiaries, plus
Shenandoah Cellular.
The nature of the telecommunications industry has made drastic changes
over their history. As Shenanadoah Telephone Company embarks on its
tenth decade of service, the advances in technology within their
industry are moving faster than ever before. They will continue to
strive to keep pace with these changes and to bring to Shenanadoah
Telephone Company customers the telecommunications services they need
and expect."

These markets have the following characteristics that make them
attractive for wireless coverage:
Because the national wireless providers have primarily focused on the
larger metropolitan markets, we believe that our markets have lower
wireless penetration rates as compared to the national average of 32%
as of year-end 1999.
Our markets are contiguous to major existing Sprint PCS markets with a
combined licensed population of over 22 million.
Our markets include major and, in some cases, the only transportation
corridors that link the population centers within and adjacent to our
markets. Over 45 million vehicle miles are traveled daily on the 2,200
miles of major highways we expect to cover in our markets.
Our markets contain several popular vacation and tourist destinations
which draw over 20 million visitors annually, including Yellowstone
National Park and Glacier National Park, and Lake Tahoe and Sun Valley
resorts.
Our markets have attractive demographic characteristics for PCS,
including an overall average population growth rate that is over 60%
higher than the national average. In addition, there are also 12 major
colleges and universities, each with student populations greater than
10,000, located within our markets.

Strategic Advantages
Our strategic relationship with Sprint PCS provides us with a
significant competitive advantage due to its strong brand name
recognition, quality products and services, established distribution
channels, long-standing equipment vendor relationships and all-digital
nationwide coverage. In just over four years, Sprint PCS has grown to
become the nation's largest all-digital wireless network covering a
population of 239 million people or more than 83 percent of the
U.S.population. Sprint PCS network partners are expanding the true
clarity of Sprint PCS' all-digital, all-PCS nationwide wireless
service in key cities and highway corridors in 43 states with network
coverage extending to more than 44 million people.
As a Sprint PCS Network Partner, we are responsible for building,
owning and managing the portion of the Sprint PCS Network located in
our markets under the Sprint and Sprint PCS brand names. Under our
long-term management agreement with Sprint PCS, we purchase our
network and subscriber equipment under Sprint PCS' vendor contracts
which reflect its volume discounts. In addition, we have access to
Sprint PCS' national marketing support and are able to take advantage
of Sprint PCS' retail distribution agreements with national retailers
such as Radio Shack, Circuit City, Kmart and OfficeMax. We offer
national plans designed by Sprint PCS as well as specialized local
plans tailored to our markets' demographics. Finally, as a Sprint PCS
Network Partner, we provide our customers with a full suite of support
services from Sprint PCS. By using these established services, we
believe that our capital expenditures and demands on our management's
time will be lower than if we developed and provided the services
ourselves. This allows us to focus on building out our network and
customer care.

"UBTA-UBET Communications, formerly known as Uintah Basin Telephone
Association, boasts a history rich with determination, dedication, and
hard work. From the company's humble beginnings back in 1948, to our
present date, UBTA-UBET Communications has evolved into a company of
over 30,000 customers. We offer not only local telephone service but
also Cellular, PCS, Paging, DSS Satellite, Internet and Long Distance
service.
It all began in 1948, when residents outside the boundaries of
Roosevelt and Duchesne were told they could not receive telephone
service because construction charges were too prohibitive. One
determined man by the name of E. Floyd Ross organized a Board of
Directors consisting of 7 other ranchers and farmers. Each represented
a locality in the basin. The objective of the Board was to create a
cooperative that would supply telephone service to the Uintah Basin.
By the time Congress passed the Telephone Act in 1949, Uintah Basin
Telephone Association was already incorporated and ready to provide
service. On June 1, 1953, Uintah Basin telephone turned up service to
their first customers. At that time, Uintah Basin Telephone's service
area extended over 100 miles from end to end and boasted over 750
customers.
Uintah Basin Telephone Association continued to be aware of the needs
of their customers. In 1989, a subsidiary of the company named UBET
Wireless was formed to bring cellular and wireless services to the
residents of the Uintah Basin. In 1992, the company foresaw the
opportunities available through fiber-optic technology. As a result,
each high school in Duchesne County was equipped with an interactive
classroom connected to a fiber-optic network. Students in the Uintah
Basin now have a wider variety of classes available to them, including
college classes, via the Internet and the distance-learning program.
Also in 1992, due to requests by our customers to provide clearer TV
reception & satellite TV for Duchesne and Uintah Counties, another
subsidiary named UBTV was created. In 1995, UBTANet was formed to
offer residents of the Basin local Internet access in their homes and
businesses. In 1997, UBLD went online to provide long distance
telephone service to our customers. In 2001, UBTA-UBET Communications
acquired the Roosevelt, Vernal and Duchesne exchanges from Qwest.
UBTA-UBET Communications now serves the entire Uintah Basin.
UBTA-UBET Communications has a rich heritage of dedicated individuals
from the original 8 members of the Board of Directors, to our current
Board of Directors and employees numbering over 145. UBTA-UBET
Communications is just as dedicated to bringing the best possible
service and newest communication technologies to the residents of the
Uintah Basin today."

The question asked, just kept getting bigger and bigger. It takes
100's of people to keep up with all the information available just
coming from the FCC.

Can you gather all the information you can on LIBERTY WIRELESS
(THROUGH INPHONIC I think). I just recently purchased a plan through
them. From surfing the net, I noticed alot of complaints about this
company and I'm a little worried. Has anyone had a good experience
with this company. I've seen about 30 or so complaints, so I guess the
question is just how many customers do they provide service for?

I really appreciate it. I need to know now if I need to cancel and get
my money back.
Thank you
