ratragekid..
The issue you are going to run into with this type of list is that the
majority, if not all, of these companies are privately held,
therefore, they are not required to announce revenue, etc. I have a
list of over 80 dynamic DNS companies. Is there a particular set of
requirements you would like to have in a DDNS company that I can
investigate and research for you?

Thank you for the quick reply.
To clarify: I am looking for a feature/performance matrix of the
player in the DDNS market. If data is unavailable b/c of the stated
reasons, that's well accepted and understood.

To further qualify: Depending on the available data, an overview of
the leading DDNS provider, and and a feature/price comparison would be
a meaningfull fallback.
Best,
Kai

Again, we have the issue of defining "leading" providers. As I said
in my previous clarification request, I have a list of 80 providers.
What features and price range are you looking for?

I guess it's very subjective if nobody is reporting revenues publicly.
Who has the biggest partners? Who has the most partners? Who has the
most end user subscriptions? I was assuming that data might be
publicly available, and detailed in a list somehow/somewhere.
To make things easier for all of us, maybe we can close the question
with the list of 80 and I will do the filtering myself?

ratragekid,
Thanks for your question and your patience during the clarifications.
I just wanted to be sure that the information I provided was what you
were looking for. In researching your question, I came to realize
that there ar literally hundreds of DDNS providers out there. It is
very similar to the hosting market in that almost anyone can get into
it if they have the resources. Below you will find a list of over 80
DDNS providers and their websites.

NOTE: This is one of the oldest and longest running of the providers.
It appears in every list I have seen and gets very good user reviews.
Probably one of the biggest.

You can find user reviews and additional information about some of
these providers at Dynamic DNS, http://www.technopagan.org/dynamic and
also there are reviews and reliability ratings on over 50 of them at
THE DNS Providers List, http://dns.highsynth.com/index-a.shtml. You
will also find that many, many of the providers offer free services.
Be very careful when choosing your DDNS provider as there have been a
rash of Denial of Service attacks over the last few months and they
seem to be directed at larger players in the market as well as the
free providers.
You can also find more providers in the Google Directory at
http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Software/Internet/Servers/Address_Management/Dynamic_DNS_Services/
Thanks again for your question and if you need any additional
clarification, please let me know.

Kai..
I am sorry you are not satisfied with my answer. I was under the
impression in from your last clarification on Jan 26 that the list
would suffice and you would do the filtering based upon it. I wish
you had requested the clarification prior to rating the answer, but
regardless, I want to be sure that you are satisified with the final
result of your question and answer. I will continue to research and
determine if I can get more details regarding the statistics you are
seeking. Is there any other detail you would like covered?

Dear THV, you are correct, I did state the list would suffice and I
would do the filtering myself, because your comments didn't show any
sign of confidence that a satisfying answer could be reached.
So, either my question was bad, in which case I deserve a two star
rating for my question (which I will fully accept) or the service
didn't live up to its expectations. Your communication was
professional and quick; four stars for you and one star for the
overall service. But unfortunately there only is one level of rating.
Sincerely,
- Kai
