Hello dalls,

After noting your repeated postings of this question, I decided I had
to tackle this search for you. I have had this question locked for
quite some time now, and have not "yet" found the answer. I have not
given up. I thought you might enjoy reading about my search process.
I'm posting this as a Clarification Request only because I will be
notified if you have comments that apply to my posting and if I posted
as a Comment, I would not be. You have no need to reply to this if you
choose not to.

Search history:

I listened to the trailer at IMDB and noted it was produced by
Screenplay, Inc. I called them, however they replied they only
produced the streaming and nothing to do with the content.

Noting it was a Miramax film, (also a Fugitive Film) I called Miramax
in New York. After several transfers, I was sent to the licensing
department where I was able to fax the head of licensing. He replied
in about an hour referring the question to their music department. I
have yet to hear back and will tickle the connection with another fax
this morning. Fugitive Films does not seem to have email contact
information and I decided against calling England from California.

Searching further, I found the resume of one of the sound engineers
that worked on this film. I called the company to find he no longer
works for them at GM Studios, but still receives email there. I
emailed and have not yet heard back.

I found the Public Relations company for the producer's of this film
in England and have emailed. No reply.

I not only posted the question on the Michael Kamen web site forum,
hoping he would know, but also found the same question posted several
years ago by another poster. I emailed her to see if she ever found
the answer. No reply from either yet, but Michael was replying to
questions this morning, but did not reply to mine as of yet.

I contacted BMI to find that trailers are considered commercials or
promos as regards music and are handled by their New York office. I
have a contact there attempting to help. No reply yet. I also left
another message for them this morning.

Another researcher noted that this music sounds extremely similar to
"Hunt of the Hurons" by Immediate Music. I called. They were not in
business in 1990, but thought they knew the piece you seek. They
promised to look for the information for me. I have not yet heard back
and have left another message this morning.

And that is where the search stands at the time of this writing.

Updates:

Today I searched Usenet Postings, and found another person looking for
this piece in 1997. I have emailed them asking if they were ever
successful identifying this piece.

Emailed returned.

I then found a recent posting on a private web site by this person. I
emailed the site owner asking them to forward my message as they
appear to be aquaintances. No reply from either yet.

So, I figured it only fair to release my lock as I most likely will
not hear more over the weekend. Of course, if I do, I will post
results the moment they arrive.

Best regards,

Update:

The sound engineer form The Kray's replied that it has been too long
and he did not recall. He suggested I try "Google" :)

Perhpas it's a COMBO of two classical pieces. Around the time of the
movie "Cliffhanger," it was very popular to merge two pieces of music.
People were obsessed with THAT trailer and it turned out to be a
hybrid of "Carmina Burana" and "Mozart's Requiem." Maybe The Krays
trailer is a hybrid, too. I know the query says it's not Carl Orff. .
.but maybe it's PART Carl Orff?
There are lot o' those Requiems that get used in trailers, too.
