This question is for pafalfa-ga only
pafalfa-ga can you locate any SharpCE-126P Thermal Printers for me in
the USA or elsewhere in the world. I will happily pay you USD$20.00
for each and every unit you are able to locate that I am able to
purchase at a fair market price.

Hello again Roger,

I have found a U.S. supplier with 18 units. I have spoken with them,
and confirmed that they are indeed in stock. Furthermore, they might
be able to
get more.

These are refurbished CE126P's. They list for $49.96, but they'll let
them go for $45 a pop if you pick up the whole lot.

You can see them listed at:

http://www.underwooddist.com/sharppocket.html

and the company is:

Underwood Distributing Co.
Grand Rapids MI 49548

e-mail milesu@underwooddist.com
Call Toll-Free M-F(Eastern Time) 8:30-5PM 1-800-753-3570
Local calls dial (616) 245-1867 / Fax (616) 245-5533

Please note that I put a "hold" on the units under my name (which I
can't give
you here...sorry, it's against GA rules) to make sure they don't
disappera, but I let them know my "client" (You!)would be contacting
them directly. If Underwood needs me to contact them to release the
units, just post a message here to let me know.

----------

Here's another site that says on their web page they have six units in
stock:

http://www.dreamretail.com/cgi-win/dream55.exe/~i020000001571

I haven't yet been able to confirme this with them, but I'll let you
know if I hear anything from them.

Good luck in CE126P quest.

Attention: pafalafa-ga
I have, about five minutes ago, contacted both the sites you found.
One appears to have 18 units the other 6. I have placed orders for all
these units and in both cases I am still awaiting a reply. Immediately
there is confirmation of my order, payment accepted, and delivery
arranged through Fedex, or some other reliable source I will inform
you. We will keep our fingers crossed. But this time it definitely
looks good. Kind regards from:bwll77-ga

pafalafa-ga only

The 18 units are looking good, I have had confirmation of availability
and am now awaiting final costing including Fedex to my Dublin Office.
Once they have accepted payment from me and indicated my order is
fully processed I will advise you accordingly. As I say this one is
looking real good!
In relation to the other site with six units they replied and I quote
verbatim:

"I am checking on the price of these six units with our Sharp buyer.
In the meantime I also wanted to let you know that at present we are
unable to ship anywhere outside the USA."

O.K. pafalafa I am a little "worried" about this one because he has
not actually confirmed having the stock immediately available. And if
he does I do not have a USA delivery address. If the stock does
actually become available I will post a special request for you to
find me a "re-direction" firm, box number service or Agent of some
kind, who can take delivery in the USA and then re-forward the stock
on to my Dublin Office for me. Will not worry about that until
availability of stock if fully confirmed, and will advise you
immediately if and when this happens. Thanks again from: bell77-ga

Glad to hear at least one of the links is panning out, and I hope they
both will, eventually. We'll see. Just let me know when you're ready
for the next step.

Hi Paflalfa,
Yup. I've just checked the time in Grand Rapids Michian for the 18
unit deal and it is Midnight. When I first made contact it must have
been just on close of business over there. It is now 3pm where I am at
the moment on the East Coast of Australia. So I will try again about
Midnight our time, about 9 hours time, which should be about 9am in
Grand Rapids. He said he had the stock I said I want it and how do I
pay him? I am actually awaiting on his reply. But if I have not heard
by Midnight to 1am here I will follow it up.
If we were fishing we got him on the hook, we just gotta get him in
the boat!
Will keep you informed. Please keep the hunt going. Thank you from:

Roger,

Give the guys in Micigan time to have their morning coffee. But I
sure hope they come through on this.

Mean time, I'm following up a lead on another ten printers that is
looking more and more solid with each communication (and they ship
internationally!). I'll let you know if it pans out.

Latest news!

Here's a quote for 14 CE126P's from Cynox, a source in Germany, for
shipping to Ireland:

Hello,

tomorrow I will get 24 printers, but 10 are sold. So I can offer 14
pieces to you. More to get is very difficult. Perhaps I can get an
adress where
I can sell some, but I don't know which price the printers will
cost then. I think they will be more expensive then. But I will try it
for you [NOTE from pafalafa-ga -- I think he means he will try to
obtain some ...not "sell some"...more printers]. I hope I can give you
this information on Monday.

This 14 printers cost:

14 x 33,90 Euro = 474,60 Euro
Insurance: 3,56 Euro
Shipping with the private courier GLS: 40,00 Euro

Total: 518,16 Euro

Unfortunately it's not possible to send by cash on delivery to
Ireland. So you have to transfer the money before we ship the items.
Please inform you bank to transfer the money without costs for us. We
must receive the amount of 518,16 Euro. Our bank connection is:

Raiffeisenbank Oldenburg
Hauptstr. 74
D-26122 Oldenburg

Bank no.: 280 602 28
Account number: 317 535 00

Swift/bic-code: GENO DEF 1 OL 2
IBAN: DE79 2806 0228 00317 53500

Please, if you want to order, do it as soon as possible, we sell this
printer very good and they are very difficult to get in Germany.
We are looking forward to your response.

Attention : pafalafa-ga

Mate it looks like we finally got something to happen! Now 1.25am in
the morning (here) and I have just overcome the last brick wall with
the 18 units.
Tell you what happened. The guy wanted paying by PayPal. I had to pay
him
$810.00 Not surprisingly I hit some sort of a "glitch" with my Pay
Pal account (card identy problem). I had to quickly open another
PayPal account and enter a new Visa Card; and then "blam" the max I
could send was $750.00
So I have sent him the $750.00 and the remaining $60.00 I will send to
him
tomorrow. "Fete Acomplie" What a "bloo....dy" joint effort this had
been mate. But we have done it! I'll send him the other sixty
tomorrow; and then I owe you $360.00 by my reckoning. Do you agree
with that and how do I get it to you.?? We are also starting to get
some action on some of the others and I will keep you informed as
things pan out. Gunna go to bed now; it has been another fantastic
day. Catch up with you in about 5 hours. Bye from Roger

Hello again Roger.

I never thought I'd get a vicarious rush from someone successfully
ordering thermal printers! But congrats...rest up....and let's hope
the others come through as well. let me know how things work out with
Cynox.

As for payment, the only option is to post additional "questions" here
at GA directed to me (or to any other researcher you want to direct
payment to).

The best way to do this is to post a small ($2) question, then leave
the maximum tip of $100.

However, that does mean multiple postings on your part. You could
also post a $200 question, with $100 tip and get a big chunk of cash
covered that way, but (from a researcher's perspective) it's less
desirable, since the powers that be take a pretty fat cut out of the
question fee (but not out of the tip).

Anyhow, I'll keep looking for more printers and let you know what
turns up.
bwll77-ga rated this answer:5 out of 5 stars and gave an additional tip of: $100.00
Pafakafa mate you are on a roll. Thanks and watch for more special postings.
