Can you please tell me who each of the ghostwriters were for the
Trixie Belden series from books 7 to 39, and which books they wrote?
I need to know who wrote each title to consider the question answered.
They were published under the pseudonym Kathryn Kenny by Whitman and
then Golden Press. Random House now owns the copyright for these
books.

There is no answer at this time.

Dear jen56johns-ga;

I am posting this as a comment for your approval before posting it as
an answer. If this satisfies your question (as much as it can possibly
be answered) please let me know.

In this document you will not only learn a great deal about each
writer, but you will find out other bits of information which were not
previously published or known about the this book series. The original
creator, Julie Campbell Tatham, agreed to divulge much of the
information about the books and named most of the ghost writers, but
for reasons known only to her, she refused to name four of them to
this day and they are referred to only as “C”, “D”, “G”, and “L”. The
other however are named a brief biographies are provided.

Thanks for your post. I'm aware of this article and how it speculates
about which ghostwriters wrote what, however, I'm looking for a
definitive answer on who wrote each of the books. Not sure if that's
possible, but it's what I'm after.

Hello jen56johns-ga:

I was very intrigued by your question, as I grew up dreaming of
becoming a "girl detective," a la Nancy Drew, Judy Bolton, and Trixie
Belden.

Unfortunately, my expert source on juvenile detective series is
unavailable and I'm not sure when we'll be able to speak, so I turned
to the Web.

The most comprehensive -- albeit, not quite complete -- listings of
authors-behind-the-Kenny-pseudonym that I could find were at these
sites:

http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Location/2933/author.html

ftp://members.aol.com/sharonr899/library/TrixieBeldenFAQ.txt

http://webwoman.biz/classes/seminars/dhtml01/examples/trixie/titles.html

http://www.trixie-belden.com/books/authors.htm

Unfortunately, the real identity of some authors of the Trixie books
remains uncertain.

The answer seems to be: no one is really 100% sure just who wrote some
of the Trixie books. So I'm sure you can't accept that as an answer!

Random House is re-publishing some Trixie books, and I have contacted
them to see if they can provide definite author information for books
7 -- 39.

Western Publishing was the original publisher of the Trixie series and
I'm trying to find a contact e-mail or phone number for them. I would
think Western would still have the original authors' contracts in
their files -- but, then again, maybe they don't!

If I hear back from both or either publisher, I will certainly post
their information right here.

Hello jen56johns-ga:

Just letting you know I haven't forgotten you! I'm still waiting to
hear back from the publisher. If they don't contact me by the time
your question expires, I'll gladly post their phone number for you,
though I'm not at all optimistic that they'll provide either of us
with the information you're seeking.

In the meantime, perhaps another researcher will dig up this
information for you.

Sincerely,
nancylynn-ga

I'm afraid Random House hasn't responded to my e-mail of 4/4/03. If
you would like to contact them re: the Trixie Belden authors, you can
call Random at 212-782-9000. Their e-mail is:
editor@randomhouse.com

Since e-mail didn't work for me, you may want to phone instead.

Sorry I wasn't able to get this information for you.

Good luck with your search,
nancylynn-ga

Thanks so much for your help. I will continue to try RH. Maybe one
day they'll reveal their secrets! : )
