About 10 years ago I received several MAGNALITE PROFESSIONAL pots, charcoal in color, as a gift. One of the pots has EITHER accumulated mineral deposits OR suffered erosion of a surface coating, resulting in a silvery white area on the inside bottom. What is this and what should I do about it? (Replace it? Return it? Treat it? Other?) | |

In my experience, this has occurred when leaving tomato based products in the pot overnight and /or washing in a dishwasher. This erodes the finish and exposes the aluminum core. From all I have read, the pot is no longer safe for cooking and should be disposed of. There is no warrany if this has happened. I have thrown away almost an entire set. Regards, -=clouseau=- |
