Howdy joepage10!

Keep in mind the "Important Disclaimer: Answers and comments

psychiatric, psychological, tax, legal, investment, accounting,
or other professional advice."

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) website has these entries for
Debtscape, Inc. titled "BBB Customer Experience Record" and
"Customer Complaint Information" and more.
http://www.dc.bbb.org/report.html?compid=W23003045&national=Y

"Our file experience shows that customer complaints brought to
the company's attention were resolved. The company responded by
issuing partial refunds and with their position in the matter."

"The complaint against this business concerns credit or billing
disputes and service issues."

On the above page, they list several addresses for Debtscape, Inc.
including one in Frederick, MD.

"5301 Buckeystown Pike, Suite 302, Frederick, MD 21704"

The specific Baltimore (Maryland) Better Business Bureau page has
some more information, such as the company being founded in 1997,
as well as some good advice and questions that you should review
in detail before signing on with any debt consolidation program.
http://www.baltimore.bbb.org/nis/newsearch2.asp?ID=1&ComID=0011000013010790

"Consumers should read contracts carefully, looking for voluntary
payments made to the agency, which can often amount to the consumer's
entire first payment to the agency, or a fee per account worked by
the agency. In addition, consumers should inquire as to how long it
will take for creditors to receive the initial payment from the
credit-counseling agency and should continue making payments to
creditors until they have been notified that the creditor has
accepted the repayment plan."

Debtscape, Inc. has other names, according to the BBB website above,
and the Credit Infocenter, and has other good advice.
http://www.creditinfocenter.com/debt/DebtConsolCompanies.shtml

"Debtscape (formerly Neway, which is also Ameridebt)"
...
"I would avoid any of the listed companies above or any other one
which resembles them. Run, don't walk from them."
...
"One final note, since the states of Florida and Maryland don't
regulate this kind of consumer service, watch out for any company
doing business out of these states."

One person seems to have had a problem with them, as reported
on the same website.
http://www.creditinfocenter.com/debt/Neway.shtml

"I had recently terminated my contract with them after paying for
almost a year and then them not living up to their end of the bargain."

Otherwise, Debtscape, Inc. appears to be a legitimate non-profit
(501c3) debt consolidation company.

I used Debtscape a few years ago. I paid all my debt off in half the
time. It was simple and very easy to work with. Out of a 10 I would
rate them about an 8.
