Hello!

'Midheaven' is apparently the most sensitive point in a person's
horoscope. Just wanted to find out if there is documented information
about what happens when planet saturn comes directly over midheaven
(also written as mid-heaven or M.C.). I'm basically looking for some
documented 'good events' and also 'not so good' events when this
happenned.

The transit of saturn over midheaven may also be called 'saturn
conjunct midheaven'. I have already taken a look at the following
link:
http://www.north-node.com/nodeorama/viewthread.php?tid=193

Further, are the results of this conjunction of saturn and midheaven
immediate or is there a time lag?

Thanks.

Hello tvr-ga

I'm afraid I can’t really help you with “documented examples”. The
Midheaven, and indeed the 10th house, of which it forms the cusp,
denotes our status in this world, where we stand in society, our
career, and related issues. The 10th house is also associated with
one of our parents. Traditionally, the association has been with the
father, but people such as Howard Sasportas and Liz Greene have argued
that it should represent the influences of the mother, or the more
visible parent in a child’s upbringing, namely, the parent who most
contributes to our socialization. I have found a lot of success in
assigning the 10th house to the mother rather than the father when
interpreting charts.

Saturn represents discipline, stability and responsibility, but also
restriction and our fears, and, in many representations it also bears
some relationship to the mother (the parent who contributes most to
day-to-day discipline). Very traditional astrology saw Saturn as a
malefic planet, having only a negative influence. More modern
interpretations do not look at Saturn in this way. There are times
when it is necessary to be disciplined and to say “no”, and Saturn
gives us the strength to do this.

Saturn, when conjunct the MC, is about the enter the 10th house. It
affects all the areas ruled by that house. For example, it could
cause someone who has been fairly laid back so far to really
concentrate on career matters in a very disciplined fashion, to get
real about what is and what is not possible. Alternatively, it could
mean the person getting a lot more responsibility, perhaps through
promotion at work or by election to a political or other office. On
the other hand, it might engender a sense of helplessness and
imprisonment, or perhaps even stop a career move from taking place, by
saying “no” or setting off fears that might not have any foundation.
Finally, Saturn in this position could set off a lot of “mother
stuff”.

The effects of a Saturn transit will depend very much on the
characteristics of the chart that is being affected, namely the
planets that will be set off by this transit. It could result in a
period of determination, or one of depression and fear. As for
duration, Ebertin suggests 1-2 weeks. However, Saturn is a fairly
heavy planet. I would expect to see a build up to the exact transit
for several months, and once it enters the 10th house it will take
about 2.5 years to come out at the other end.

Dear TVR-ga:

Take a look at this link:

"Saturn conjunct the Midheaven is said to bring us that which we
deserve, that which we have earned, and sometimes it brings separation
and depression. My personal observation is that Saturn works late"

Hope this helps.

Hello!

Here is one more link:

Midheaven/Saturn

There will be far less movement with this conjunction, as it is less
about awareness of change and more about the limitations we find in
the physical environment. there is a focus on the structure of one's
own personality rather than on things outside the self. There is a
tendency to be self critical, sometimes leading to an actual loss of
ego consciousness. Once again, the need for sufficient practice in
thinking is apparent; clear thought processes win negate the tendency
toward depression and mental disorder. Change may be inhibited, self
examination and learning from experience will emerge.

Hope this helps.
