Many moons ago, not long after Al Gore invented the internet, Yahoo
had a feature on its home page where you would a click an icon and you
would be brought to a random web site. This seems to no longer exist.
Are there any other sites that offer this? Thanks.

Hello.

The Yahoo random link apparently used to be at the following URL, but
it no longer seems to function properly:
http://random.yahoo.com/fast/ryl/

There are many other sites, though, that will help you to visit random
web sites:

Random.com
http://www.random.com/all/

Randomwebsite.com
http://www.randomwebsite.com/

Mangle Random Link Generator
http://www.mangle.ca/mangle.php

Sienahts.edu: Random URL
http://www.sienahts.edu/~jschneid/JavaScript/RandomWebSite.html

MIT Random Link (takes you directly to a random site; try it again if
it takes you to a site that is down)
www.mit.edu:8001/cgi/random

Monospace Random URLs
http://www.monospace.com/random/

search strategy:
"random links",
"random urls"
random, link, generator

I hope this helps.

This one is fun:

http://www.seethru.co.uk/games/randomURL/index.htm

It selects a random word from a 3 million word dictionary, then
appends .com and takes you there. Some very weird sites can show up.
If you discover something truly notable, you can email the site with
your "find."
