What is the translation of the words "White House" in Gaelic?

As I've noted on another Gaelic translation question, I do not speak,
read, or write any kind of Gaelic.  (See

However, I seem to be good at translating, and I believe I've found
the answer.

In Irish Gaelic, "white house" appears to be "teach bán", "tí bháin",
or "teach bhán", depending on the grammatical case of the noun in the
phrase.  The words are capitalized for the White House, as in the
building in Washington, D.C.

An alternative appears to be "teach geal", or presumably "tí ghil" in
the genitive case, though I haven't found that phrase.

Meanwhile, "tigh geal" appears to be the basic phrase for "white
house" in Scottish Gaelic.

For someone that doesn't speak the language, I'm very impressed with
the translation skills of justaskscott. Just to confirm,
Teach bán is the correct translation of white house in Irish. "An
Teach Bán" is The White House.
Teach geal would mean "Bright House" in Irish.

It did seem to me that "geal" in Irish Gaelic was more typically
"bright" than "white".  It is useful to hear that "bán" is the better
choice for "white".  (In Scottish Gaelic, it appears that "geal" means
"white" and "bright" more equally.)
