We like to buy oil wells in Southern California, which should be well
equipped,
currently producing about 3 barrels of oil per day, water content less
than 70%
PLs find oil well brokers who can find above mentioned oil wells in
Southern California, or oil well owners with contact numbers and
Emails. If you could find both oil well brokers and owners, we"ll
appreciate. Thanks!

No. Please try to search the real seller and the brokers. Thank you very much!

This has turned out to be a surprisingly intractable question.

There are several online listing services that hook up buyers and
sellers of oil producing properties. I saw listings in Texas that
otherwise seemed to meet your criteria. But none, at the moment, were
listed in southern California.

The listings change constantly.

Would you be interested in having a list of the online broker services
as an answer to your question? That way, you could check them
yourself periodically until you locate a property that's of interest
to you.

There are also lists of all well owners/operators in California that
describe in a fair amount of detail who owns the wells, and the
properties re: output, water content, etc. But the lists do not,
themselves, indicate whether a particular property is or sale. I'd be
happy to include this information in an answer as well, if it is of
interest.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed on this.

Thanks.

We've found out several on line brokers by ourselves also, just as you
said
there're little information as we need in Southern California.
We wonder if you could find any other brokers/consultant or experts in
oilfield
who can search for the oil wells we need, when succeeded we like to
pay commission to them.
Also we're surely interested in lists of all oil well owners in
California,
but they must have phone numbers, fax numers, emails and addresses, so
we
can contact them.(Would you mind telling us where do you get the
list?)
Thanks for your effort!

Hello again,

Thanks for your clarification.

I haven’t found information on brokers beyond what I mentioned in my
previous comment.

The information I have on oil well owners and operators lists
thousands of wells throughout California, A typical listing looks like
this:

25 Hill Properties

029..............[county code = Kern]
OG...............[well types...oil/gas?]
51...............[number of producing wells]
27...............[number of shut-in wells]
18,362...........[Oil and condensate (bbl)]
1.0..............[Daily production per well (bbl)]
37,996...........[Water (bbl)]
67.4.............[% water]

A separate file gives contact information for the oil well
owners/operators...most, but not all, include telephone numbers:

25 Hill Properties Inc
P O Box 344
Taft CA 93268
(661) 765 - 5330

Other information (fax numbers, emails) is not readily available.

Would you like me to post the information I have as an answer to your
question?

If not, how would you like researchers to proceed?

Hello,
We think you've done your best, we like both a list of the online broker
services and oil well owners lists as an answer. And we would appreciate
if you could tell us how to get the lists, so we may do something later
in other states.
Thanks again!

Hello again, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to answer your
question.

Let me begin with the publicly-available records for oil wells in the
state of California. All well operators must file with the state whey
then intend to begin drilling operations, or when they close down any
wells. In between, during the operating life of the well, they must
also file regular reports with the appropriate state agencies.

Well operators must also designate an “agent” who resides in the state
of California, and who is the point of contact for all regulatory
dealings. The State of California makes a great deal of this
information publicly available in several different formats.

You can get an idea of the requirements, record-keeping, and databases
that are available at the California Division of Oil, Gas and
Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) website at:

http://www.consrv.ca.gov/DOG/general_info/new_operator_info.htm

---------------------

The full list of all wells, well operators, and agents (who are often
the same person as the operating company) can be found here:

ftp://ftp.consrv.ca.gov/pub/oil/AGENTS.txt

This is a simple ASCII file and identifies all the operating
companies, and the agent name, address and phone number.

---------------------------------

A much more detailed list that describes the properties (daily oil
production, water content, etc) of all wells in the state can be found
in the DOGGR's Annual Report at:

ftp://ftp.consrv.ca.gov/pub/oil/annual_reports/2001/AnnualReport2001.pdf

Beginning on page 104 of the report is a very lengthy table of “OIL
AND GAS PRODUCED, BY OPERATOR ” that provides the detailed production
information I mentioned earlier.

---------------------------------

I believe that most states with operating oil wells will have a
similar department (although they may not all make their information
as easily available as does California). You’ll find a good list of
links to relevant state agencies here:

http://www.em.gov.bc.ca/Links/OGLinks.htm#United%20States

The states list begins about two-thirds of the way down the page, at
the heading: “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA -- FEDERAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT
-- Oil & Gas Web Sites”.

---------------------------------

As for brokers, one of the District Directors for the DOGGR provided
me a list of a few possibilities, although he cautioned that he had no
direct experience with any of these firms, so it is difficult to say
if they would meet your needs or not:

Avenal Land & Oil CO
San Francisco, CA 94102
(415) 984-0535

Bloemer Estate Oil Lands Leasing
4948 Engle Road, Bakersfield, CA 93313

Gray Oil & Land LLC
Sonoma, CA 95476
(707) 996-8857

Theta Oil & Land CO
582 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94104
(415) 392-9545

Virginia Oil & Land CO
3101 State Road, Bakersfield, CA 93308
(661) 393-7000

Connie Manus Petroleum Consulting
(661) 637-2820

Maverick Petroleum
(661) 328-5530

West Coast Land Service
(661) 322-2517

White Wolf Land Service
(661) 324-9653

---------------------------------

Some on-line services that I came across (none with active listings in
southern California that met your criteria) are:

http://www.energynet.com/

http://www.plsx.com/Advisory.htm

It would be worthwhile to check these sites from time to time for new
listings that may appear.

--------------------------------

I hope this information meets your needs.

If anything here is unclear, or requires further elaboration, just let
me know by posting a Request for Clarification. I’ll be happy to
assist you further.

Best of luck in your business ventures.
