Question ID: 260625
I am looking for a particular shower curtain. I believe it was sold
one time at Bed Bath & Beyond and may now be discontinued.

It is a clear vinyl curtain with a pattern called "Passport to
Adventure" by "Nick & Nora" that features icons of luggage stickers
for different destinations around the world.

So far, I have not been able to find a website for Nick & Nora or
figure out who owns that registered trademark (which might lead me to
a website).

I think this particular SKU might be discontinued, but I hope not.
You can still see this pattern on bags, pajamas and other things, but
finding the shower curtain on the web is nigh impossible.

Google, Alltheweb, Froogle have turned up very little for me, but I
think you all have better expertise in finding things...

An acceptable answer will include either a link to a website where I
can buy the shower curtain, a telephone number for a company I can
order from that still has one in stock, a private party with an unused
shower curtain.

If you have found proof that this SKU has been discontinued *and*
cannot be found in excess stock, let me know in a question
clarification and I may still let you post that as the answer.

Thank you - you Researchers are fantastic!

Yes, I am in the United States.

After doing some searching of my own, it looks like this pattern
really is out of stock. :(

Thanks, all.

Pinkfreud, I've lowered the question price, but would you mind posting
your comment as the official answer?

Thank you,
The Grammaton Cleric

Thank you very much for asking me to repost my comment as an answer.

I haven't been able to find your shower curtain, but I did unearth a
bit of info about the origins of the Nick & Nora products:

Virtual Advisor Interactive
http://www.va-interactive.com/inbusiness/editorial/bizdev/articles/nicknora.html

From Switchboard.com's yellow pages, here's contact info for the
company:

Nick & Nora
35 W 35th St
New York, NY 10001-2205
Phone:(212)629-9500

According to the Virtual Advisor article linked above, the Nick & Nora
bedding and bath line is being licensed to Wamsutta. It might be
worthwhile to contact Springs Industries, Inc. (Wamsutta's parent
company):

Springs Industries, Inc.
http://www.springs.com/contactus/index.html

I have sent an email to bathaccessories@springs.com inquiring about
the availability of a Nick & Nora shower curtain in the "Passport to
Adventure" pattern. I'll let you know if I receive a response. Due to
a hearing loss, I am not able to use the telephone, which would
probably speed things up quite a bit. I hope another Researcher can
build upon what I've found and take this quest to a satisfying
conclusion.

[I've not yet received a response to the email sent to Springs
Industries, but I have not given up on this. Sometimes a difficult
quest takes some time: I once answered a GA question just a few hours
before its 30-day expiration date. If anything of interest
materializes, I will post it here for you.]

Best regards,
Pink

Thanks, Pinkfreud! Excellent work as always. I have some new leads
that I will follow up on myself via telephone.

Two more phone numbers for Shady Character AKA Nick and Nora.

212-843-0916
212-594-9265

They own the trademark of Nick and Nora and the domain name of
nickandnora.com, but there is no website at that URL.

I remember when Bed Bath And Beyond were having clearance sales I did
buy a Nick and Nora shower cutrain and laundry bag but they only had
the cloud motif on them and unfortunately not the passport pattern. I
was under the impression that Bed Bath and Beyond were not selling
them anymore but not that the entire line was not being produced. I do
hope you find them and it looks like you've got some great starting
places. I wish I could help you more.

Many thanks for the five-star rating and the bountiful tip!

This question has been an intriguing mystery indeed. In some ways, GA
is like an ongoing series of detective stories. I think I shall call
this one "Nick & Nora: It's Curtains for You!"
