Hi, Curacao1000 ~

It would be easier to answer this question if you tell us what your
Operating System is and which browser you are using.

Thanks,

What you are decribing is the "search history" feature. While some
computer users find it to be a convenience, many view it as a
nuisance. Fortunately, it isn't difficult to clear your search
history.

Below you will find information that will help you to delete your
history in three ways. If you have the "Google Toolbar," you may need
only the first (and easiest) method.

=====================================================================
  ----= TO DELETE YOUR SEARCH HISTORY FROM THE GOOGLE TOOLBAR =----
=====================================================================

Click the little multicolored Google logo to access the drop-down
menu.

Select the 'Clear Search History' option. This will eliminate the
search history, but it will begin to build again unless you take
further action. Here's how to eliminate the Google Toolbar's search
history so that you don't have to clear it after each use:

IF YOU ARE USING GOOGLE TOOLBAR VERSION 1:

Click the Google logo on the Toolbar. Select 'Toolbar Options.' You'll
see three boxes, labeled thus:

 * Keep a search history in a drop-down list under the search box
 * Preserve the search history across browser sessions
 * Automatically run a search when you select from the search history

If you "uncheck" the top box, the one that says "Keep a search
history," the search history feature will be turned off. If, in the
future, you want it back, just click the same box to turn the feature
on again.

IF YOU ARE USING GOOGLE TOOLBAR VERSION 2:

Click the Google logo on the Toolbar. Select 'Toolbar Options.' Under
the category 'Searching,' find the box labeled 'Drop-down search
history.' Click to "uncheck" it.

This is not done by Google itself, but by a feature of Internet
Explorer called AutoComplete. Here are instruction for turning off
AutoComplete:

Go to the Tools menu.

Select Internet Options.

Select the Content tab.

Within the Personal Information area, select 'AutoComplete'.

Click on 'Clear Forms'. You can also uncheck the 'Forms' box in the
same window to keep this information from being stored in the future.

Alternatively, you can delete individual entries from your search
history by using the down arrow key to select a previous search, then
pressing the Delete key once an unwanted search is highlighted.

  ----= TO DELETE YOUR SEARCH HISTORY FROM INTERNET EXPLORER =----
=====================================================================

Go to the Tools menu.

Select Internet Options.

Click the 'General' tab.

Click the 'Clear History' button. To completely disable the history
function, change the "Days to keep pages in history" to 0 (zero.)
