This takes longer to explain then it will probably take to do for the
take.

i wanted to set this page up so that
1. the categories are listed down the side as hyperlinks (still with
thumbnails but also with side bar categories
2. I want 3 top level shops instead of 2 in each row.
3. I want it so that instead of the top level categories linking to
varCatURL="

Hello, binarian:
  Ok, to be sure, you want two things:

-Change the default.asp to include 4 columns, instead 2, making images
smaller like in home.asp

-Something on products.asp

I don't understand what do you want to do in products.asp, the
categories are on the top and there is no room to place them on the
left. Please, give me more details.

Regards.

along the top where i have it..that is just a static link area...u can
put it right there except have it show up dynamically. i just took it
out along the top! sorry about that. i tried for a while to get the
damn image uploads workon on this site but i couldnt get it up and
running.

after the rearrangements.. in case u want to integrate that image
upload stuff we just did on the other site on this site as well..ill
up the cost of this another $15-20 or just tip u around that.. let me
know

Hello, binarian:
  Almost midnight here, I'm going to sleep now, here is the
default.asp with 4 columns, images are not resized yet:

Once you give write access I will continue.

Hello, binarian:
  Check out the default_test.asp again to see if this is what you
want, looks almost identical to home.asp, but extracting the contents
from the database.

Regards.

Clarification of Question by binarian-ga on 22 Oct 2003 13:35 PDT
that part works for me..please notice the link that the images and
link sfrom home.asp go to. default_test.asp still goes to that mid
level link. compare the 2 to sort that out. also on the products
page..categories in a small font across the top is fine with me.

i have temporarily replaced the regular default with a static page..
please continue to get the links working as i mentioned on
default_test.asp .. thanks!

Hello, binarian:
  In your static pages, in the links, you set a fixed category by
default, for example:

products.asp?id=100&Cat=Birthdays&SubCat=Birthday%20Baskets&SubCatID=39

Cat=Birthdays

and

SubCat=Birthday%20Baskets
SubCatID=39

From where I can get the SubCat? That is, in default.asp I just have
the Cat, and I have to add the SubCat for the links to work on the
products page. What rule do you follow to set this SubCat? Is there
only one on the database?

Regards.

in the database located in the includes folder.. there is a table
called categories and another table called subcatgories

Hello, binarian:
  Please, check default_test.asp to see if the links are pointing now
to the place you want.

Regards.

Hello, binarian:
  I have also modified the categories.asp script to extract the
contents from the database, like in default_test.asp. Please, check it
out, and tell me if this is enough to fully answer the question.

Regards.
