How many children 18 and under enrolled in british columbia schools in 2003-04?

I have found statstics for enrolment and full-time equivalent for
British Columbia kindergarten, elementary, and secondary schools in
2002-03. It appears to be too early for the 2003-04 statistics,
though they will presumably appear on the same web site, which you can
check again in the coming months to see if the information has been
posted.

Would the information I have be sufficient for an answer?

Incidentally, these statistics do not list students by age, though
presumably most of them are 18 or under.

Leli-ga has informed me of your other question:

As leli-ga noted, I was working on your question. I would be happy to
post an answer if you would like.

Your information is fine. However, I need only one answer for each
question and I have rec'd an answer from Liela-ga or whatever for the
Scottish education question. I will wait for your answer to the
British Columbia children's education enrollment figures (under 18 or
19 wil do - also any sp. ed of Aboriginal students if available) and
2002-03 will be fine. Thank you.

Hello meanie2-ga,

The general page on statistics for the 2002-03 school year from the
British Columbia Ministry of Education is located at:

"K-12 Standard Reports"
British Columbia Ministry of Education
http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/k12datareports/

For all B.C. schools, excluding home school, as of September 30, 2002,
total headcount was 685945, and full-time equivalent (FTE) was
649021.1320. (These totals, as well as the totals in the other two
reports I cite below, are at the bottom of the report.)

"Provincial Summary: Total Headcount & FTE Enrolment Public,
Independent and Home School Registrations by Gender" (as at Sep 30
2002)
British Columbia Ministry of Education
http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/k12datareports/02sldtxt/1555c.txt

You might want to subtract adult students (defined for these September
30, 2002 statistics as students born before 1983/07/01). The total
adult student headcount was 21687, and the FTE was 7249.7628.

"Adult Enrolment, Headcount & FTE by School and District / Authority
(Public & Independent Schools)" (as at Sep 30 2002)
British Columbia Ministry of Education
http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/k12datareports/02sldtxt/1555e.txt

Finally, the total headcount for students of aboriginal ancestry in
aboriginal programs was 48717. (The FTE does not appear to be
available.)

"Aboriginal Headcount Enrolment in Aboriginal Education Programs by
School and Grade Level (Aboriginal Ancestry Only)" (as at Sep 30 2002)
British Columbia Ministry of Education
http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/k12datareports/02sldtxt/1587b.txt

You might find it interesting to browse these reports, as well as
other reports to which the main page links, in order to see the
details behind these numbers, as well as other statistics.
