I?m looking for the fonts used in the compact disc logo found on every cd.
What is their name and where can I get them?

Dear mops,

As most protected brands and trademarks the Compact Disc logo (which
is, by the way, owned by Philips) uses a non-standard font that has
been designed especially for the logo. However, a True Type font has
been created based on the logo's well-known charcaters. Would you be
interested in that?
Also, you can get the logo itself in PostScript and True Type format.
Would that help you?

Regards,
Scriptor

Hi Scriptor,
I'm looking for the font itself so I can write text in the same style
of the logo in widnows. I need both fonts (the one used for the word
disc and the one used for the word compact).

Cheers, Mops

Mops-ga,

You can find a free imitation font at
http://www.1001fonts.com/font_details.html?font_id=1782 that tries
very hard to resemble the compact disc logo. Hope it helps.

Thanks bjork24.
I've actually found this font sometime ago and while it indeed looks
like the hollow font used in the word disc, I still haven't found the
one used for the word compact.
I even tried contacting the author of the font but unfortunately he
hasn?t created the other font used in the logo.

Just a comment: using www.myfonts.com on a large picture of the logo reports
Eurostyle T Black (http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/urw/eurostile/t-black/)
as the closest match for the font in "COMPACT" and "DIGITAL AUDIO",
followed by Eurostyle EF Black and Eurostyle Bold. Square 721 Bold
also looks like a good match.
