Good morning fr8dog-ga

I had posted this same reply on your "Resolution and Adventure"
question yesterday but maybe you haven't seen it. I believe this is
urgent since the offer for the medal is good only for 72 hours and I
received the reply from the dealer Dec 2nd. I will write to him today
and see if I can buy us some more time.
I will copy his reply here and if you decide to purchase the medal you
can rather let me know and I will send him an email to confirm or
contact him directly.
I had already posted his reply and his contact information but my
posting was removed by the editors that do not want personal contact
information posted here. However if you check his web site for
references you can also find all the information you need to contact
him.

Here is the reply:

"Dear Silvia

Thank you for your reply to my offer of a silver Cook Pingo medal, and
my apologies for the delay in coming back to you.

In view of the fact that this is a particularly attractive example of
the medal, I would accept a net sum of £810 from your third party and
will hold this offer open for 72 hours. An e-mail within that time
confirming the wish to purchase will place it on reserve. Thereafter,
payment may be made by Sterling draft, or by a personal check in the
local currency. If the latter is an option, I will let you have the
rate quoted by my broker (who is a good deal cheaper than the high
street banks and charges me just £5 for each transaction). The choice
can then be made by the buyer as to which of the two is the easier and
more economical means of settlement. The sum of £810 includes all
shipping charges. I am unable to take credit card payments.

I have been in business for over 30 years and my credentials can be
found on the homepage of my website: www.christophereimer.co.uk

Kind regards

Christopher"

Hi fr8dog-ga

I am glad you read this on time, I was really worried about the 72
hours limit on the offer.
I will then post the answer here and get the reward you generously offered.
As you know I am always available to help and always looking for the other items.

Many thanks
silviares

Greetings Fr8dog:

I located one of the bronze medals for sale and I have confirmed it is
still available. About 3/4 of the way down the page at
http://www.reeseco.com/cat214/cat214a.htm there is one offered for
sale for $2,000. Contact informatin for this business is:
William Reese Company
409 Temple Street
New Haven, CT.
06511 USA
Phone: 203/789-8081
Fax: 203/865-7653
Members, ABAA and ILAB
mailto:coreese@reeseco.com

I just got off the phone with Joe Newman in the Americana Department
of William Reese Company (203-789-8081) and he verified that they
still have the medal for sale. If you are interested in a bronze,
call and ask for Joe Newman and give him the catalog and item number
as:
Catalog 214, Number 38, Cook

*********

The silver editions appear elusive on the Internet and I wanted you to
have this information on the bronze medal in case it interested you.

Best regards,
journalist-ga
