There is a rumor circulating that George W. Bush's IQ is 91. Well, I did some research and found that to be a number made up by some fake organization. That is really inconsequential though. I'd like to know his actual IQ. Just the number. If the question is hard to get an answer for, but COULD produce a definate (or almost definate) number for a higher price at some point, I MIGHT could do that... I'm a poor college kid who is insanely curious though. All I want is the number. Thanks so much for what y'all do. | |

Hi. Bush's SAT score was 1206 (566 Verbal, 640 Math). See the upper-left corner of his Yale transcript: http://www.iuptown.com/YaleProtest/bushs_yale_transcript.htm This web page offers a theoretical conversion of pre-1974 SAT scores to IQ: http://members.shaw.ca/delajara/Pre1974SAT.html Based on that conversion chart, Bush's IQ would be about 129. Another web page, "SQ, IQ, and self-skills in recent US Presidents" mentions that Charles Murray, author of a book on IQ called "The Bell Curve," compares a that SAT score to an IQ of about 125. "On his SAT's, President GW Bush scored 566 verbal and 640 math, for a total of 1206 (from http://members.shaw.ca/delajara/SATIQ.html ). The Bell Curve author Murray estimates a 1206 SAT equates to about 125 IQ. " http://www.sq.4mg.com/Presidents.htm " Finally, when it comes to raw IQ, Bush is in the mid-range of American Presidents. In 1999, Charles Murray and I calculated, based on Bush's SAT score of 1206 (old-style scoring system), that his IQ was probably about 125 or a little higher..." source: Steve Sailer, vdare.com: http://www.vdare.com/sailer/karl_rove.htm ------ search strategy: bush, iq bush, "sat score" bush, sat, 1206, iq As to whether the $200 price level would yield actual IQ information, I don't know. You could give a try, but I suspect that a definitive answer is unlikely unless an IQ score from Bush's elementary or prep school days could be discovered. Such a score has apparently not surfaced thus far, so it may never be found. It's unlikely that Pres. Bush has taken any IQ tests since he finished school. And it's also pretty unlikely that he'd be willing to sit down for a new IQ test administration. I hope this helps. |

More than helpful. I'd leave a tip but I really can't right now. Thank you so much though. |

Of course, we don't know whether someone took the test for him. |

I'm tired of otherwise intelligent people who call Bush "stupid" or a "dummy." I don't think you can become and the be a governor or President without having at least average native intelligence. Part of the problem is that he does indeed suffer badly in that arena when compared to his predecessor, Bill Clinton. I think most of the lack of intelligence attributed to Bush stems from his inarticulate, sometimes doddering public speaking. His vocabulary isn't especially advanced, either. But to those who criticize Bush's intelligence based on his verbal blunders, I would reply that I'm sure they've also misspoken at times, and if someone were to document them and edit them together, it wouldn't paint an especially favorable picture. I'm not trying to say that he's been an especially good President, that his policies are right-headed or anything else like that. I think it's intellectually lazy to dismiss a national leader as "stupid" without looking beyond a collection of sound bites. |

George Bush has been confronting negative comments and allusions about his intelligence for a long time. By now, they probably bother you more than they bother him. If it gets to you, use his mother's retort from the 2000 campaign: "He's dumb like a fox." |
