I am looking for the total market size of delivery and take out food
orders in the US, ideally with geographic breakdowns. The source must
be reputable, as the data will be referenced in a business plan. The
report below has the info I need, but I don't want to shell out the
$500. IbisWorld - 72221 - Limited-Service Eating Places in the US.
Has anyone out there already purchased the report? Thanks in advance! |

Hi Teddyready!
This is what I have located:
- Total take out and delivery sales in the U.S.
- Take out and delivery sales in Delaware
- Projected takeout and delivery sales in the U.S. for the year 2007
I have also located the projected sales of eating and drinking places
by State (2002). Given that 58 percent of restaurant orders are eaten
off premises, this data could give you an idea of take out and
delivery sales.
Would my findings be of your interest?
Thanks,
Bobbie7

Hey Bobbie7-
Thanks for your work so far. To clarify, I am looking for the total
delivery and take out market size excluding fast food (drive throughs,
etc included in the 58% I believe). More specifically, I'm after
market size for restaurant food that can be ordered over the phone for
off premise consumption. This would include delivery and take out
from pizza, chinese and mid price restaurants, but not fast food.
Will any of your findings give me what I need?
thanks, will check back soon.

The following information is what appears to meet your needs:
- Total take out and delivery sales in the U.S.
- Take out and delivery sales in Delaware
- Projected takeout and delivery sales in the U.S. for the year 2007
The above figures are for "takeout/delivery business", I cannot be
sure if fast food is excluded.
Best regards,
Bobbie7

Unless fast food is excluded from take out, it won't meet my needs. Thanks anyway.
