Song was popular in 1988, and received tons of airplay on WBCN in
Boston. Hard rocker that had the line "I'm going to shoot all over
you". That line had a sexual connotation. I'm sure this
band was a typical 1-hit wonder but I'm curious to see if anybody has
the info.

There seem to be a lot of songs with very similar lyrics. Can you
remember anything else about the song? Any other lyrics? Was it a male
vocalist?

It was definitely a male rock and roll band. This was a very heavy
metal song. I was working on assignment in Boston during winter months
of 1988. Song was on BCN all the time. When I got back to Milwaukee,
there was no airplay on the comparable Milwaukee station. Maybe a
local Boston or East Coast band?? I think I had the LP, and threw it
out when I ditched my vinyl. Of course, I now want it again. Pretty
hard to find if you don't know the band name. This is going to be one
of those names I'll recognize in a minute. But for the life of me, I
just cannot remember.

Hi Cataloger69,

The song that comes to mind for me is Nine Inch Nails "Big Man with a
Gun", the chorus is very similar to what you described but it's
more... profane. The lyrics can be found at
<http://www.jevon.org/lyrics.php?artist=nine+inch+nails&title=big+man+with+a+gun>.
However, if you're easily offended I *strongly* recommend you don't
read them!

Let me know if it's the right song!

This doesn't ring bells and this is the era and genre I tend to know best.

Are you absolutely sure about the line? You're not confusing 'Walk All
Over You' and 'Shoot to Thrill', both by AC/DC?

No, not AC/DC. I'm a big fan of that band also. Know "Walk all over
you", and "Shoot to thrill" real well as I own all the CD's. I'm as
stumped as you as I know the 80's fairly well myself. I really thought
the name of my mystery tune was "Shoot all over you". However, I can't
find any listings to that tune name. Like I said previous, this tune
was all over WBCN (The Big Green Mattress) in Boston in the winter of
88. The DJ's loved it because of the heavy sexual lyrics. In my
hometown of Milwaukee-if it was played on WQFM, it did not get played
much. I owned the album, so there was some commercial release from the
band.

NOT the NIN song. Good try though.

Can you think of any other lyrics at all that may help?

The late 80s was when sleaze metal was at its peak, as you know, so
there are many many potential candidates!

The worst offenders? People like Helix, Krokus, Love/Hate...
