When I first began this research, I located the first 3 former Deans
of Admissions quite easily. Then I started seeing all these Assistant
and Associate Deans and thought I could easily give you 10. However,
your clarification, which I appreciated very much, narrowed things
down quite a bit.
After an exhaustive search, sifting through numerous web pages, I was

4. John A. Watson - UCSF Medical School
?John A. Watson is professor of biochemistry and biophysics and former
dean of admissions and student affairs in the School of Medicine at
the University of California at San Francisco. Dr. Watson's public
services include service on numerous boards and committees for

regional director for the National Institute of Science. His research
interest is metabolic regulation with a specific emphasis on the

7. William T. Butler, M.D. - Baylor College of Medicine
?William T. Butler, M.D., a distinguished immunologist, joined Baylor
in 1966, and during the following decades he served the College in a
variety of roles, including Associate Dean and Dean of Admissions. In
1976, he was named Acting Executive Vice President and Dean, and in
1977, he became Executive Vice President and Dean. Two years later,
Butler was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Baylor

8. Dr. Lindy Kumagai - University of Utah College of Medicine
?Dr. Lindy Kumagai is currently special assistant to the Dean and
professor emeritus of Medicine at University of California, Davis
School of Medicine. His professional interests include patient care
for disadvantaged persons, thyroid disorders, minority health
professional development, and minority medical school faculty
development. He remains active in the research of clinical
thyroidology, especially autoimmune thyroid disease. Dr. Kumagai
graduated from the University of Utah and completed his post doctorial
