According to this page, an Ideal doll marked VW-3 is a Betsy Wetsy:

Could this be your Doll #2?

Yes, I think you are very close. The dolls I have are slightly smaller
- 16 inches, but they appears to have the same markings. On doll #2,
my doll has hair that looks slightly different but it is also a little
smaller 16 inches. The back of the doll looks just like mine. Thank
you for your research.

I'm afraid I'm out of clues. I hope another Researcher will be able to
identify your dolls. This sure brings back some memories!

Betsy Wetsy definitely came in several sizes. When my neighborhood
friends and I used to play with our Betsy Wetsy dolls, we assigned
them "ages" based on their differing heights. Mine was usually the
smallest, and hence was viewed as the "youngest" baby.

If you can provide any further details, it might help someone to
answer your question. The more we know, the better we can help.

The doll that appears similar to Betsy Wetsy was named Mary Jo by my
sister. I do not think she would have come up with the name herself
or it would have been suggested by anyone in the family. I think if
it is said Betsy on the box the she would have named it Betsy, but it
is very similar to the Betsy Wetsy dolls and the marking is so close,
I would suspect it must be Betsy. The funny thing is I have seen the
Tiny Tears doll shown with a pipe which blows bubbles and this seems
very familiar to me. However, if I look at the pictures of the Tiny
Tears and Betsy Wetsy, I would say "Mary Jo" favors Betsy. I would
say the other doll must be a Bannister Baby. I always thought of the
doll as a boy. This doll was owned by my sister and she named it
Bubba, which I am sure was not the original name. Thanks for your
help.
