What is the purpose of the fly in pants. Was it originally there for men to pee with? Or was it simply to get pants on and off? |

Hi, hipersons, According to Wikipedia, the Free Encyclopedia, a pants fly "... allows easier dressing and for men, urination without undressing." Trousers - Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trousers Factmonster tells us trousers "... were pull-ons until the nineteenth century, when front closures using buttons were introduced." You might enjoy the other interesting tidbits provided on this page, as well.
