I am trying to find out what happened to a company ALLIED ARTISTS
INDUSTRIES, INC incorporated under the laws of the state of Delaware.
As late as 3/1/79 they were still in business.I believe the were
incorporated in 1975. BRADFORD TRUST COMPANY OF NEW YORK was the
transfer agent and registrar. Went to Delaware and got as far as
getting a number from them 0812680. But they want $10 to proceed
further and I am not sure what they will say for that. Can you tell me
anything about them. Are they still in business. If so how can I
contact. Did they merge and if so with whom. Any way I can contact.
Thank you. if your service works out I have a few others I would like
to check out also. Thanks again.

Allied Artists went belly-up in 1979, and I'm afraid its stock
certificates have no value. Beyond that, what sort of specific
information are you looking for?

I have two stock certificates from them and was trying to find out if
they were good or not. Some one wrote that the company went belly up
in 1979. If that is correct then the stock certificates would not
have any value and the question would be answered. If you can confirm
this it would be appreciated.

Hello there,

Here is an excerpt from a newspaper article in the St. Louis Dispatch
from July 23, 1993:

Q. I recently found 100 shares of Allied Artists Industries Inc...Do
they have any value?

A. Allied Artists Industries shares were issued in 1976 to
shareholders of Allied Artists Pictures Corp...Unfortunately, Allied
Artists Industries filed for bankruptcy protection in 1979. The
arrangement under Chapter 11 was confirmed in 1983...creditors were
not paid in full and your shares have no value, said Robert
Fisher...with...R.M. Smythe & Co. stock-search firm.

And from the April 5, 1979 Washington Post:

Allied Artists Files for Bankruptcy;
Marshals Seize 1,000 Allied Prints

Allied Artists Industries Inc., owner of a motion picture company
whose fortunes have waned in recent years, filed a voluntary
bankruptcy petition in New York yesterday...U.S. marshals have seized
more than 1,000 Allied film prints here. Old films apparently account
for the bulk of the remaining assests of Allied Artists...

...The major successful films from Allied in recent years have
included "The Betsy," "Cabaret" and "Papilion."

...Trading of Allied stock and debentures was suspended on the
American Stock Exchange.

Cabaret! I liked that film. But I guess they didn't have much
success after that.

Hope this information meets your needs.

The Delaware Secretary of State's website shows that the registered
agent for this company is now US CORP. CO./CORPORATION SERVICE CO.,
2711 CENTERVILLE RD., SUITE #400, WILMINGTON, DC 19808. Call them at
(302) 636-5400 to see if they can answer your question.

If you have access to a local stock broker or to a Wall Street
Journal, you need to try to ask that person to see if ALLIED is listed
in one of the stock exchanges and you need to find out what their
stock symbol is (usually a 3 letter abbreviation).

You didn't mention your reason for asking--are you trying to find the
current price of the stock or was there some other reason? There is a
other firms that can help you research a stock price. Just do a
Google Search on the phrase "stock price research" or some other
similar phrase to find out the names and addresses of other companies
that can help you research stock pricess or see if the company is
