Question ID: 307885
I have just changed my black HP print cartridge (number 56) on my
all-in-one 2110 and after changing the cartridge the error message
came up saying "remove and check black cartridge". I have removed and
checked, repeatedly, the black cartridge, and even went to the trouble
of purchasing another brand new cartridge but I am still receiving the
same error message. I tried cleaning the electrical carriage connects
but still nothing. I want to know someone that knows why I am
receiving this error message and what I can do to remedy the
situation. Preferably someone that deals with printers on an ongoing
basis, or someone that has dealt with this specific problem or
something akin to it.

Thanks and Cheers,

Collin

It could be a communication error. Did you check the cartridge if it
is seated properly and if it is securely in place? Have you tried
restarting the printer and/or computer? Did you check the cable
connection?

Yes I have removed and reseated the cartridge probably a dozen times
to see if it would make any difference. I have also restarted my
computer a number of times, however I fear that it is a hardware and
not a software issue.

Since troubleshooting is simply a process of eliminating possible
causes, if it's not much of a bother to you, perhaps you can try to
uninstall and reinstall the driver for the printer. That way, if the
error is still there, you can be certain that it is indeed a hardware
issue. Glitches do happen in a computer system and they can sometimes
affect the software installed.

I went to HP's product support page. Please check the suggestions described here:
