Hello Roosevelt-ga,

Can you kindly clarify your question, so that the researchers here can
provide the best possible answer?

Do you simply want to identify who wrote the work entitled "Montessori
or Public Education - A Parent's Decision For The Five Year Old"? Or
is there additional information that you need.

If you are looking to actually contact the author of the work, it may
be possible. But if the author does not have publicly-listed contact
information, often the best means of contacting a writer is through
their agent, publisher, or via an association they are affiliated
with.

Let me know what type of information would best meet your needs.

Thanks.

Hello, roosevelt-ga!

The article, "Montessori or Public Kindergarten - A Parent's Decision
for the Five Year Old," was written by Aline D. Wolf. The article may
be found on the Montessori Education Centers website:
http://www.montessorilovetolearn.com/curriculum.asp?page=4

Aline Wolf is an important figure in the development of Montessori
education in the United States. She is responsible for interpreting
and introducing the works of Maria Montessori to the American public
in her book, "A Parents' Guide to the Montessori Classroom."

Aline D. Wolf is the business founder of Parent Child Press. I called
Parent Child Press to make sure that Aline Wolf would receive any mail
sent to her at that address. The woman I spoke to assured me that any
correspondence sent to Aline Wolf at Parent Child Press will be passed
along to her.

Parent Child Press are the work of the company's founder, Aline D.
Wolf, who is widely recognized as a modern interpreter of Maria
Montessori's work."

Some excerpts:

"Marywood University will confer an honorary degree upon Aline D.
Wolf, a member of Marywood's Class of 1950 and a renowned Montessori
educator."

"Long regarded as a modern interpreter of Maria Montessori's
philosophy and methods, Ms. Wolf, author of 21 books, has most
recently narrowed her attention to the most important aspect of all
Montessori's educational work - nurturing the spirit of the child,
particularly in the framework of cosmic education. Since the
publication of her most recent book, Nurturing the Spirit in
Non-Sectarian Classrooms, she has been lecturing extensively to
parents and teachers concerned about the materialistic values that
predominate society."

"In 1961 she and her husband, Gerald, founded a Montessori school in
the living room of their home in Altoona. This school, now called
Penn-Mont Academy, was the first Montessori school to be licensed in
Pennsylvania and the third in the nation. Today, Penn-Mont Academy has
over 250 students ranging in age from 18 months to 12 years, and has
sponsored several Montessori training programs for teachers."

Excerpt about Aline Wolf:

"With sixteen books to her credit, Mrs. Wolf is widely regarded as a
modern interpreter of Maria Montessori's philosophy and methods. After
she and her husband, Gerald, founded Pennsylvania's first Montessori
school in 1961, she wrote A Parent's Guide to the Montessori
Classroom, now a classic in the educational world and translated into
French, Spanish, and Chinese. In subsequent books, as well as in
posters and slides, Aline highlighted Montessori's insights for
parenting and for teaching peace."

"Aline Wolf has lectured extensively throughout the United States and
in Canada, Mexico, Samoa, Australia, England, Ireland, [Sweden in
October 1999], and New Zealand. She has been honored for distinguished
achievement by her alma mater, Marywood College; by the American
Montessori Society for significant contributions in furthering the
progress of the Montessori approach; and by the Pennsylvania
Montessori Teachers Association as an outstanding educator. Her latest
book, Nurturing the Spirit in nonsectarian Classrooms, was published
in May, 1996 and served as a springboard to nearly continuous speaking
engagements throughout the world."

"Mrs. Wolf holds a B.A. degree from Marywood College, Scranton, PA
(1950), a Montessori diploma from the St. Nicholas Training Centre,
London (1965), and an honorary Doctorate of Pedagogy from St. Frances
College, Loretto, PA (1997). She has taught "Introduction to
Montessori" courses at the University of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania
State University."
