I want to have some idea about the extent we communicate, using
whatever means.  Specifically: how many radio and TV stations are
there around the world?  how many newspapers are there?  how many
emails are sent per day worldwide?  how many phone calls are made at a
given instant, or in a day, or in a year?  how many books are
published worldwide every year.

Thankfully this is not correct!  That would be approx 40,000,000,000
pages for every person on the planet.  I myself have not lived up to
this quantity of editorial output in the last year.  Have you?  Your
next article from KMworld clarifies the issue:

"18,000 magazines are published domestically, with 225 billion pages
of editorial content"
