On a routine blood test and several follow-up blood tests my doctor
found that I had elevated liver enzyems. A liver scan was normal. and
all other tests were normal except a pepidea CCK scan showed that my
gall bladder was not functioning properly ("failed to contract after
being "challenged with CCK") I have put myself on a vegetable and
fruit juice diet and am drinking various teas, to detox and lose
about 20 pounds. I have rarely eatten fats, meat or sugar. I am
sensitive to chemicals. I have been on Zetia to lower cholesterol,(it
worked) but have discontinued it since this diagnosis. Can a gall
bladder be reactivated? What can cause elevated liver enzymes? Any
suggestions for alternative remedies? Although I feel healthy I wonder
what lies ahead.

Your physician should have gone over the values on your test ans well
as action to be taken. Some cholesterol lowering drugs do cause an
elevated liver enzyme test requireing cessation. However a baseline
test would have been done and compared. If you stopped the offending
drug, the test should return to normal. One test would not be enough
though. You should talk with your doctor, if you dont like or trust
him, change to another. These are questiuons easily answered by him
