I want to know how much each contestant on Survivor wins. Let's take
the most recent, Survivor: All Stars as our specific show. We know how
much Amber won, but what about the other 17 Survivors? A rough
ballpark would be ok...I have heard rumors about $1,000 for each day
they survive. That would be pretty low for the last place finisher...

The first contestant to be ousted from the "All-Stars" edition got
$25,000. In earlier versions of "Survivor," the first person voted out
received $2,500. Other cash prizes also went up for "All-Stars":

"The latest edition features 'all-stars' plucked from the first seven
Survivors. It includes 18 contestants, up from the usual 16. The show
will air 14 original episodes, up from the usual 13. And while the
jackpot remains $1 million, the total prize pool is increased: The
first contestant voted out will receive $25,000, a tenfold increase
from the first loser's prize in other editions."

"Jeff Probst: The money did go up. I don't have the exact numbers. I
think it was a million for the winner, $250,000 for the runner up then
$175,000 and then maybe 115, then maybe dropped into 85."

"Probst had plenty more to say about the show, even revealing such
news as the increased prize money for the final contestants.

The winner still gets $1 million, and though Probst didn't have the
specific amounts, he estimated the runner-up now will receive
$250,000, followed by $175,000 for third place, $115,000 for
fourth-place and $85,000 for fifth place. In prior seasons, the
runner-up received $100,000, so clearly the stakes are higher this
year, which Probst said had a bearing on the way the players played."

Remember that you can still root for Rupert. Tune in on Thursday...

"Indianapolis' Rupert Boneham didn't take home the $1 million in
Sunday night's finale of TV's 'Survivor: All Stars,' but he's the
early favorite to take home $1 million in yet another installment of
the wildly popular series this Thursday.

Rupert received the most studio applause and loudest cheers when host
Jeff Probst interviewed him during the 'reunion' phase of Sunday
night's 'Survivor' episode on WISH-TV (Channel 8).

The next installment of Survivor, tentatively titled 'More With the
All Stars,' is scheduled to be broadcast at 8 p.m. Thursday. Viewers
will be able to vote for the most popular survivor; the winner gets a
million bucks."

Here's hoping he gets the million that he deserves. Nice guys don't
always finish last.

For the record: Rupert got his million!

"Rupert Boneham may not have won 'Survivor All-Stars,' but the burly
counselor from Indianapolis became a millionaire because of the show
anyway.

Boneham, the bearded giant whose fishing skills, dedication to the
game, and overall likability earned him millions of fans, won a
million-dollar check from the CBS show Thursday night.

After the million-dollar 'All-Stars' prize was awarded to Amber Brkich
on May 9, the CBS show announced that it would be awarding another
million-dollar prize, this time to a contestant voted for by viewers.

Boneham had been a fan favorite during both his seasons, and from the
moment the new prize was announced, many believed he would win the
million dollars. 38 million people voted, host Jeff Probst said."
