The air was filled with "oohs" and "aahs,"
And I was wondering "what's the cause?"
Then I realized: man, oh man, sir,
This is my one thousandth answer!
Am I happy? Whaddya think?
You bet your aahs, I'm tickled pink!

Thanks so much for noticing. Sharing a milestone like this one
prevents me from having to wear it around my neck. ;-)

Some musings on the number 1000...

"J J Dewey in his book, The Immortal about his interactions with John
the beloved revelator, teaches that a person (human conscious entity
rooted in decision) evolving in his/her upward journey toward godhood
will experience roughly 1000 mortal lives by the time it is
accomplished."

"In the year 1000 the world was one of mystery and magicians, monks,
warriors and wandering merchants - people who feared an apocalypse and
people who had no idea what year it was or what lay beyond the nearest
valley."

"One thousand cranes signify healing. When there is a sick person,
people fold one thousand Origami cranes by wishing his/her recovery
that the number one thousand has a special significance for healing in
Japan."

"The diagonal cross is sometimes used as a symbol for Christ, whose
name in Greek begins with the Greek letter X. It also stands for the
number 1,000 in ancient Greece."

"The ancient Egyptians developed the art of counting to a high degree,
but their system of numeration was very crude. For example, the number
1,000 was symbolized by a picture of a lotus flower."

I'll close with one of my favorite quotes, from one of my favorite
plays that was made into one of my favorite movies:

"Every day is like going to the circus. You remember how a little car
always drives into the middle of the ring, and it looks so tiny, and
then all of a sudden, all of the sides open up and out pop a thousand
clowns? You never dreamed that all those people could be in such a
tiny vehicle, but somehow they were.

That's the shape of life, my boy. There is always so much more to any
event than we humans can see on the surface. Do not ever assume you
know everything about anything. Every day is a little car filled with
a thousand clowns - learn to be humble, and a friend of mystery, and
who knows how you will be surprised?"

(From "A Thousand Clowns," by Herb Gardner)

Best wishes always,

If someone sends you 1,000-$100 bills, you would have a lot of moolah.
That's a fact that many would like.

Nicely done. A wonderful gesture as a question... and a classic
answer to mark the occasion.
