Hello dan2075-ga,

Since NetFlix has well over 90% of the DVD rentals by mail business
and WalMart is the second largest player, the remaining companies you
have to choose from are much smaller operations. I?ve listed the
biggest among these and included some directory links that you can
browse for specialized vendors.

I?ve also included information about the competition in this industry.
Blockbuster and other retail stores are trying to figure out how to
get into this lucrative market. There are many questions about the
growing trend to buying, instead of renting, DVDs. In addition, no one
is ready to predict how the business will be changed by Video on
Demand. The articles I?ve included will help you get a quick overview
of the emerging trends.

I trust that I?ve found the information you need. Since you?re a first
time user, I want to make sure that you have a completely satisfying
experience with Google Answers. If you have any questions about the
scope of my answer be sure to use the clarification option.

Netflix Script Spells Disruption
March 22, 2004

Netflix revolutionized how people rent movies. Now Wal-Mart and
Blockbuster are scrambling to catch up. Who gets the happy ending?
From Strategy & Innovation newsletter.

As Blockbuster pushes further into DVD sales, it has to compete with
low-cost movie retailers like Wal-Mart, which uses low-priced
new-release DVDs as loss leaders to drive sales of other items in the
store.

Wal-Mart joins the fray
Complicating things further, Blockbuster and Netflix face equal
competition from Wal-Mart, which in October 2002 introduced an online
video rental service similar to Netflix's. The new option is offered
under the company's Walmart.com platform.

The battle shapes up
Most analysts believe the real battle in the movie rental business
will be in competing with VoD technology, which even in its current
state of low functionality is also a disruptive innovation, even to
the start-up Netflix.

Netflix's Next Challenge -- 10.02.03

With 1.2 million customers and a 95% market share, Los Gatos,
Calif.-based Netflix (nasdaq: NFLX - news - people )rules the online
DVD rental industry. Not only does the four-year-old company sit on a
comfortable customer base, but it has also lowered its churn rate to
5.6% in its latest earnings and its stock has more than doubled since
January. Still, as heavyweight competitors such as Wal-Mart (nyse: WMT
- news - people ) and Blockbuster (nyse: BBI - news - people ) join
the online game, Netflix readies itself to ensure that it stays No. 1.
