Need a list of at least the names of the 1,000 largest institutional
investors in the US. List of 1,000 largest institutional investors in
the world would also be helpful. List should be for both public and
private institutional investors with size determined by assets under
management. Additional contact information for each institution would
be ideal

The list of money managers is exactly what I was looking for and the
additional contact information is fantastic. However, I need at least
the top 1,000 institutions. The current list includes only the top
~750.

Is it possible to find the other ~250 institutions? If it is not
possible to find the complete list please advise.

Since it seems that this list is something that you've been looking
for, I repost it as an answer with one important addition. There is
also a list of 1,000 largest US pension funds

http://www.pionline.com/pension/rankings.pdf
and their contact info: http://www.pionline.com/pension/profiles.pdf

A list of 700+ money managers ranked by total worldwide institutional
assets:

(I would also note that the last organizations on this list have fewer
than $1 mln under management. This is why this list is relatively
short)

Their profiles (address, contact information, etc):

I've forgotten to include a crucial piece of information. The pdf
files linked in the answer are "viewing only" - they can't be printed
out. The easiest way to circumvent this restriction is to open them
with GSview/Ghostscript. Install Ghostscript first
(http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/doc/AFPL/get704.htm) and them install
GSView (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/gsview/get43.htm).

Use GSView to view and print the pdf files.

Are you aware of a similar list with european contact details? I would
be happy to post that as a question.
