I would like information on the store Aakron or Akron department
store.  One was located in San Diego during the late 70s and early
80s.  It was located in Fashion Valley or Mission Valley shopping
mall.

Hi Bowler,

That page is in reference to Akron, Ohio.

I remember the Akron Department stores in Los Angeles, California when
I was growing up.  It seems that they just disappeared without a
trace.  I can't find anything on the web about them.

I, too, have fond memories of going to Akron, in the San Fernando
Valley, when I was growing up (and later, as well, of course, when I
was working in the area).
Fun store! A lot like Pier One, but more spacious. Around 'til around
mid-80s. Don't have any photos of the store, but I know that the Los
Angeles Times often ran their ads, so if you were interested in that,
maybe you could check out the microfilm at your local library.
