Question ID: 373613
I am looking to buy VHS videos and/or DVD's of a tv series called The
Paper Chase. John Houseman played Professor Kingsfield in this
award-winning TV series. Note that I am NOT interested in the movie of
the same name which I already own.

I am looking for vhs/dvd from the original series, which consisted of
about 22 episodes. I know that Showtime rebroadcast the original
series and also did later episodes. I only want the episodes from the
first series which came out I think in 1978 from CBS.

I will pay dearly to buy these episodes, even if not all of them are available.
I will pay a flat $50.00 if your answer actually helps me get my hands
on at least 1 good quality vhs/dvd of this tv series.

I may be reached at sedulousforever1@aol.com.

Hi mainemensan,

Here you go -

I found someone who is selling the complete set (57 episodes), or he
will sell just the episodes you want. I emailed him to confirm
availability and he answered promptly (almost immediately) with all of
the particulars.

"...I have the complete "The PAPER CHASE" episodes..."

Wow! An answer! I asked this one before:

http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=133209

and never found a source. And I wasn't the first--one commenter
points to an earlier Q, going all the way back to July of 2002. Now,
at last, someone has a lead! Thanks, mainemensan, for asking, and
thanks, hummer, for your response.

I'll be anxious to hear how you guys make out - I have my fingers
crossed that you'll both soon be noshing on popcorn and enjoying James
Hart, Franklin Ford III, et al. Have fun - I wish I could join you!

I'm going for the whole set.

This guy has delivered as promised on the sampler. It's a bit coarse
and grainy for a 42" plasma screen, but I am more than ready to
forgive a little picture quality for the sake of having this great
series after such a long wait. Professor Kingsfield's voice is still
thrilling and terrifying, and Hart is as appealing now as back when I
wasn't much older than he was.

So, mainemensan, we have had one great piece of luck with the help of
our friend hummer.

Dear Archae0pteryx,

Thank you for the excellent news, I appreciate it. Ofcourse, I'm still envious.

Cheers!
