Would you like a specific researcher to offer you some suggestions?
Otherwise there is no way to compensate a researcher for his efforts.
Many researchers tend to avoid these types of questions where
customers are seeking "input" on the premise that they will be
compensated IF they happen to come up with the right name. Would you
like me to work on your question exclusively or do you have someone
else in mind perhaps?

Very well. Tell me more about your phone, it's capbilities, to whom
you hope to market it and what it looks like. What makes it different
from others?

Dear charly5-ga;

Thank you for allowing me to answer your interesting question. Here
are some hip and funky suggestions for the brand name of your new
telephone. As you know, one-word names are wildly popular in today?s
market place. Consider these suggestions:

===============

I really like this concept. I think it would fit your product well and
make it very marketable:

?Verge?

This name implies ?the anticipation of something profoundly
significant?, or a great occurrence in the making. Being on ?The
Verge? could be incorporated into your company?s logo and slogan. The
double meaning here is evident (?being on the phone? and ?being on the
verge? is a very catchy concept and certainly sets the mind into
motion, don?t you think?)

Potential slogan ideas:

?Are you on the Verge??

?Verge - it?s happening?

The domain name Verge.com appears to be taken, but not currently in
use. The domain name OnTheVerge.com and VergePhone.com however are
still available for purchase.

===============

?Radical?

This is a term used frequently by today?s youth to describe something
that is modern, interesting, and ?cool?. The ?Radical Phone? implies a
new, fashionable, cutting-edge product.

Potential slogan idea:

?Get Radical?

The domain name RadicalPhone.com is not yet taken and is available for purchase

===============

Here is another one that I think has great potential. The marketing
possiblities are endless in terms of what you could do with the name:

?Velocity?

This one word name is easy to say and easy to remember. The name is
sharp, modern and implies great and sustained speed.

Potential slogan ideas:

?Achieve YOUR Velocity?

?Nothing less than Maximum Velocity?

The domain name VelocityPhone.com is not yet taken and is available for purchase

===============

Now, if you give this brand some serious thought, I think you'll see
some very valuable potential here. As it turns out the name Meucci
(the surname of a man now long since deceased) has some significant,
yet previously un-recognized (in the US at least) historical
relationship to the telephone. The name is very chic and could
potentially be THE catch-word for a new telephone if only someone
chose to use it:

?Meucci? (pronounced ?May-oo-chi?)

This Italian surname actually happens to be the name of the REAL
inventor of the telephone, as officially proclaimed by US Congress on
September 25, 2001. The 107th CONGRESS 1st session H. RES. 269
officially declared that Alexander Graham Bell was not the first
inventor of the telephone and recognized 19th Century Italian-American
Antonio Meucci as its original inventor. To my knowledge there has yet
to be a modern telephone device named in his honor. Yours could very
well be the first. This Italian name could easily become a household
name representative not only of historical accuracy, but high fashion.

You can read the US Congressional House Resolution about him here:

POPULAR SCIENCE
http://www.popular-science.net/history/meucci_congress_resolution.html

Potential slogan ideas:

?Meucci ? it speaks for itself?

?When Meucci speaks, people listen?

?No one says it like Meucci?

?Meucci ? the name that started it all?

The domain name Meucci.com is already taken but MeucciPhone.com is
still available for purchase.

===============

?Lodestar?, or more chic perhaps, ?LodeStar?

A lodestar is a uniquely bright star visible from virtually every
location and used as a navigational point of reference. The name
suggests a mental image of a universal point of origin (the call) and
the ability to travel to any other known point in the universe without
obstruction. A logo could perhaps be a cleverly designed starburst
with the inset of compass points.

Potential slogan ideas:

?Everywhere with LodeStar?

?LodeStar ? where the journey begins?

The domain name LodeStar.com is taken but LodeStarPhone.com is still
available for purchase. The domain name TheLodeStar.com may also be
available.

===============

?Solitel?

A play on the words ?solitary? and ?telephone?. This name implies a
one-of-a-kind product. This could be a very distinctive name that is
easily remembered by consumers.

Potential slogan ideas:

?Say it with a Solitel?

?You?re never alone with Solitel?

The domain name Solitel.com appears to still be available for purchase.

===============

I hope you find my suggestions useful in your project. If you have any
questions about my research please post a clarification request prior
to rating the answer. Otherwise I welcome your rating and your final
comments and I look forward to working with you again in the near
future. Thank you for bringing your question to us.

Perhaps if you respond to my clarification request I could serve you
better. Tell me more about your phone, it's capbilities, to whom you
hope to market it and what it looks like. What makes it different from
others? Is there anything else you can tell me that might help make
this process easier? What kind of name are you hoping for?
