problem connecting to internet. right after connecting, got connection notice - connection strength excellent, but when she opened her browser, she got proxy error - http proxy report, proxy server encountered error, host 0.0.0.1 unreachable. went into IO/connections tab - no check in proxy or any other lan settings. this is one instance of many people who have this problem. i know 0.0.0.1 is typical of a popup blocker kicking in, but all claim to not have one. what else can be doing this? thanks. jim |

Go to the Start and then run. Type in cmd, and press ok. In the command prompt type in "ipv6 if", and if it comes up with a bunch of info you have IP version 6 installed. Then type in "ipv6 uninstall", and it will disable IP Version 6 and ask you to restart. Restart the PC, and when it comes back up try and connect to the internet, and you shouldn't have the proxy error anymore. |
