As I live in Chile I found your question very interesting.
Here are the results of my search.


The total number of children that attend school in Chile is 3.958.995
(2.035.766 boys and 1.923.229 girls). These figures include Pre-basic,
Special Basic, Regular Basic, Media Secondary and Superior.

includes University, Professional Institutes and Technical Formation
Centers)
