I posted this question a little while ago about the about:Blank
hijacker and got a great answer for it:
http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=376365

My new problem is that I am dealing with the same issue on a friend's
computer. I have tried to follow the steps and this is what happens: I
run reglite to find the hidden dll. In my case, it points me to a dll
called ms.dll in Windows/System32. Yet, the file is not there. When
I run a search for it (including hidden files), I only get pointed to
a file called mscms.dll. I ran an online search for this file and it
seems to be a legitimate file that has something to do with color
settings.

What should I do now? What files should I delete? Is this a new
mutation and the old steps aren't working or is there anything that I
can do at this point?

Hello Jim

This is a notoriously difficult virus to remove but I have heard very
good reviews of AdawareAway which simplifies the whole removal
process.

It can be downloaded from here (it is a 30-day trial):
http://www.adwareaway.com/

For specific instructions on how to use this program you will need this link:
http://www.adwareaway.com/homeoldsp.htm

If you are still having problems with the removal they also offer you
expert advice on its removal (if you email them your log file from the
program).

There is also an about:blank scanner program that will confirm that
your PC has the virus that can be downloaded from here:
http://www.adwareaway.com/download/Scan_AboutBlank.exe

If you need any further help on this subject please ask for
clarification. I have a couple of other good guides as to how to
eradicate this virus but I wanted to post this version first as it is
by far and away the simplest way. Good luck!

Just to clarify the download is a 5-day trial but there is a 30-day
money back guarantee on the product.

AdawareAway is relatively limited in function at present so I would
not necessarily recommend buying the product unless it fixes your
problem easily and it is a problem you have regularly.
