What do the two asian symbols/characters on the official FIFA 2002
baseball cap translate to? I'm guessing that one character is Korean
and the other Japanese. Which is which? The cap is pictured here:

Dear asciiquestion,

Thanks for your question,

The characters on the cap mean zu qiu or - what is perhaps not very
surprising - "soccer"

They are most likely Korean, but in any case come from the Chinese
characters with that meaning.

Sorry I could not offer you anything more exotic.

Best regards,

Fons

There's nothing Korean or Japanese about the characters... they're
completely chinese, meaning soccer as fons-ga correctly points out.

Awesome cap, though.

By the way, if you're curious, Korean pronunciation of the two
characters would be roughtly "chook-goo" (soccer).

P.S. Love your search strategy -- had I known your girlfriend, I
would have asked her too! ;->
