Hi daisymay53186!!

First of all please don't consider this answer ended until you get rid
of this hijack. Many times the solution for this kind of problems
varies from one
computer to other, this means that a proved solution may not work in
your case. Use the clarification feature all the times needed to
complete this task, I will be glad to answer your requests for further
assistance.

I will start with the easy way (but I am not sure if it not involves
more risks, before with this first shot we must trust in this guys!!):
For many people the uninstaller provided by Searchmyrequest.com
website has worked fine. The uninstall link is:
http://searchmyrequest.com/uninstall.exe

After run this file reboot your computer and see if it is fixed.
See if you can personalize the IE Home Page.

----------------------------------------------------------

If this does not work you must try with an antispyware. The
recommended one is Adaware:
http://lavasoft.element5.com/software/adaware/

Download it from:
http://lavasoft.element5.com/support/download/

Here is a guide to how to use this software:
"Ad-aware Tutorial":
http://www.fluteloop.com/Adaware6.htm

Let Adaware fix all that it find.

Note: I suggest you to use this software even if you have kicked
Searchmyrequest.com with the uninstaller, may be other spywares and
pests are hiden in your computer.

Again reboot the computer and see what happens. See if you can
personalize the Home Page.

-----------------------------------------------------------

There is the possibility that this pests persists in your computer. If
this is the case please download HijackThis and post in a request for
an answer clarification the log.

To download HijackThis:

I hope that this helps you. Remember to request for any additional
assistance needed before rate this answer.

Dear Sir/Madam

I clicked on the easy way out to uninstall
www.searchmyrequest.com/hp/php I got a security alert message: Your
current security settings do not allow this file to be download.
Please explain why I got this message and how i could fix it. I have
installed spybot and ad-aware(lavasoft) and cwshredder, but, didn't
help me get rid of this problem. This pests persists to lingers in my
pc. To install the program "Highjack this" is more involved and seemed
complicated for someone like me who is not very good in computer and
it's terminology. I don't even know what program or programs to delete
or eliminate if i see the listings of programs. Please help me. Your
prompt attention is deeply appreciated.

Hi!!

I think that you must change temporarily your Internet Explorer's security setting.

Please follow these steps:
1- Open Internet Explorer
2- Click on TOOLS menu
3- Select Internet Options
4- Click on SECURITY tab
5- Select Trusted Sites
6- Click on Sites button
7- In the "Add this Web site to the zone" box type
"www.searchmyrequest.com" without quotes
8- Click to remove the check in the "Require server verification" box
9- Click on Add button
10- Click OK twice

For instructions on this task with screenshots see the following page:
"Working with Internet Explorer 6 Security Settings":
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/howto/security/settings.mspx

NOTE:
If you receive a message that this site is in another security zone do
the following:
1- Accept the message
2- Cancel the addition of the "Add this Web site to the zone" box
3- Click on Restricted Sites
4- Click on Sites button
5- Search in the Web Sites list box for *.searchmyrequest.com (the
sites are sorted alphabetically)
6- Select *.searchmyrequest.com and then click on the Remove button

After do this try again to download the file:
http://searchmyrequest.com/uninstall.exe

If during and/or after this task you are still experiencing problems
we must try with the program HijackThis.
What would I need is only to see the log, with this I will tell you
which items you must select to fix. Also if you need some help on how
to run it (in the case that you don't understand the tutorials) please
do not hesitate to ask for assistance.

I forgot to tell you if you can accomplish with the download, please
remove the searchmyrequest site from the Trusted Sites and add it
again to the Restricted sites.
Follow the instructions at the "Working with Internet Explorer 6
Security Settings" page.

One thing is positive for you about this problem, I am hundred percent
sure that you will learn something about internet security from this.
Unfortunately this is the way for almost Internet users, but learning
is always a positive result. Take this issue in that way and you will
solve it easier.

Please let me know if the previous clarification have worked fine to
get rid this pest, not only if it did not work.

Hi!!

Ok, we must proceed with HijackThis. I will post a steb by step
instruccions to download, run and post the log here.

1- Open the My Documents folder by double clicking on its icon at your Desktop.

2- On the File menu, select New and at the scrolling list of options
select Folder. Name this folder HijackThis. (With this you will create
a new folder named HijackThis inside My Documents folder)

3- Open your browser and download HijackThis by clicking on the
following link (or -better- do a right click on the link and select
"Save destination as" -or similar option- and skip step 4):
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/supportfiles/HijackThis1982.exe

4- The Save File dialog box will be displayed, click on the Save button.

5- The Save As dialog box will be displayed, save the file at the
recently created HijackThis folder (select My Documents --> double
click HijackThis folder --> click on the Save button.

At this point, after the download of the file was finished, you will
have the program HijackThis on your computer in a dedicated folder.

NOTE: other way to do that is to download HijackThis to the place
where you always download your files. Then create the HijackThis
folder and then copy or move the HijackThis file to this dedicated
folder.

Now What to do?:

1- Open My Documents and double click on HijackThis folder to open an
Explorer window at HijackThis folder.

2- Double click on HijackThis1982.exe to run the program.

3- To perform a scan of your computer please follow the instructions
on the following section of the tutorial page until you have a listing
of all items found by HijackThis :
"How to use HijackThis":
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=42#HowToUse

4- Now follow this edited instructions:

a- Click on the Save Log button and save the log (by default it is
named hijackthis.log) to your computer somewhere you will remember
later.

b- Click on Start then Run and type Notepad and press OK. Notepad will
now be open on your computer.

c- Click on File and Open, and navigate to the directory where you
saved the Log file (I suggest you to use the HijackThis folder).

d- When you see the file, double click on it. The log file should now
be opened in your Notepad.

e- Click on Edit and then Select All. All the text should now be selected.

f- Click on Edit and then Copy, which will copy all the selected text
into your clipboard.

g- Start to write a request for an answer clarification.

h- Right click in the message area where you would normally type your
requests, and click on the Paste option. The previously selected text
should now be in the message.

i- Submit the request.

I hope that this be clear enough that let you complete this task.

Again feel free to request for further assistance.

Let start it again!!

If I don't misunderstand you have downloaded HijackThis on your
computer. Well that is fine.

If that is the case, just proceed with the following instructions:

1- Run HijackThis and perform a scan.

To do that please follow the instructions on the following section of
the tutorial page until you have a listing of all items found by
HijackThis.
"How to use HijackThis":
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=42#HowToUse

2- DO NOT CHECK ANYTHING TO FIX!!

3- Create a log by clicking on the Save Log button and save the log
(by default it is named hijackthis.log) to your computer somewhere you
will remember later.

4- Open the log with Notepad:
4.a- Click on Start then Run and type Notepad and press OK. Notepad will
now be opened on your computer.

4.b- Click on File then Open, and navigate to the directory where you
saved the Log file.

4.c- When you see the file, double click on it. The log file should now
be opened in your Notepad.

5- Post the log as a request for an answer clarification:
5.a- You have obviously this question opened in your browser, this
is the way used for you to read it. You also have posted several
requests after my first answer. The first one telling me that you
cannot download the uninstaller, other request that you posted told
that my advices did not help you to download the uninstaller. So you
know how to use this feature. What I need is that you write one more
request (or as you called it 'e-mail me'") posting the text on the log
file.

5.b- Open a Request for an Answer clarification by clicking on the
correspondent button at this Question page.

5.c- Now go to the Notepad where the log was opened according steps
4 and do the following:
·Click on Edit menu at Notepad and then click on Select
All. All the text should now be selected.
·Click on Edit and then Copy, which will copy all the selected text
into your clipboard.

5.d- Now come back to the Question and in the Request box opened
before as a result of step 5.b do a right click in the area where you
would normally type the text of your requests, and click on the Paste
option. The previously selected text on Notepad (the LOG) should now
be in the box.

6- Submit the request by clicking the button Post Request.

I hope that this clarify all the obscure points of my instructions.

Again do not hesitate to request for further assistance if you need it.

Regards.
