I am trying to find the name of an 80's children?s book. It was a series of books about a teenage dirt bike (motorcycle) gang in a post-apocalyptic world. NOT Mad Max or Akira or anything mainstream, more obscure. I remember one book in the series they came across a city that was destroyed and glass was everywhere, and I think glass might have been in the sub-title. I thought it was called "dirt bike cowboys" or something like that, but that's not right. |

Hello. You're thinking of the "Turbo Cowboys" series by Tony Phillips. See this description of the first book in the series: "A teenage "Mad Max" story in post-apocalyptic America... ...Batt, Raider, Tech and J.J. are 4 post apocalyptic survivors who were born inside a Government Relocation Camp... ...A trader of sorts, he bargains with the kids: Raider, who learned how to be a mechanic in the Relo camp will fix the unused motor dirt bikes in the garage of the hotel and as payment the Cowboys each get a motor bike." http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0345351215/ As you mentioned, one of the books is about a "City of Glass" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0345359259/ Some of the other books: "Full Throttle" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0345351231/ "Spark Fire" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0345351258/ "Super Charge" http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0345351266/ --------- search strategy: city glass cowboys amazon.com, "turbo cowboys" I hope this helps. |

That was amazing. Exactly right and very quick. I looked for that for weeks with no luck, and I know what I'm doing. Thank you jugglr-ga, and thank you Google Answers. Reading this book and flashing back to my youth will bring me great joy! |
