Dear Dnp,
I have located additional information.
The Mead Johnson U.S. Baby Formula market was worth $486 million in 2003.
?The lucrative baby formula market in the US, worth over $486 million
to Mead Johnson, prompted the company to stall a federal breastfeeding
ad campaign end 2003.?
?Mead Johnson, a subsidiary of Bristol-Myers Squibb claims to be the
world leader in infant formulas with its Enfamil family formulas.
Worldwide sales reached $721 million in 2003.?
http://www.ibfan.org/english/pdfs/btr04/btr04meadjohnson.pdf
?Ross Products, the Abbott subsidiary that produces the Isomil and
Similac brands, and Mead Johnson Nutritionals, the Bristol-Myers
subsidiary that makes Enfamil, are the largest companies in the
business.?
?Ross has about a third of the infant-formula market, second to Mead,
which has more than half. The other major players are the Swiss giant
Nestlé and Wyeth, based in Madison, N.J., which makes Wal-Mart's
Parent's Choice formulas as well as America's Store Brand, which is
sold at stores like Kmart and Target and wrapped in their own labels.?

The Marketing of a Superbaby Formula

I have not been able to locate a more recent study similar to ?The
Infant Formula Prices and Availability: Final Report to Congress?
which provides the exact information you require.

It seems that freely available up-to-date sales data for each company
is scarce; however there is some high-quality information available in
the report BABY FOODS & INFANT FORMULA published in January 2004.
The only problem is that this report is very expensive.
Here the link link to this report.

In addition to the additional information that I recently posted
above, I would like to add a few more snippets of relevant data taken
from Euromonitor.
"In 2003, baby milk formula was the single largest market sector,
accounting for more than three quarters of the baby food market
totaling US$3.9 billion."
"Mead Johnson Nutritional led value sales in 2002 with a 40.7% share
of the market."
"The baby food market is dominated by Bristol Myers Squibb and Abbott
Laboratories, which control 66.6% of the total market with their
infant formula brands Enfamil and Similac."
"Baby milk formula should remain the dominant sector in the market,
with 70.3% of the market reaching a value close to US$4.3 billion in
2008."

Thank you again.
You mentioned about the Mead Hohnson U.S. Baby Formula Market ($486
million in 2003)
Do you have numbers for Ross, Nestle or others as well?
I understood of Ross has about a third of the market, but what exactly
are the numbers as I need to compare within the numbers.
Sincerely
dnpc

Thank you for the sales numbers for Ross.
But this number is the total sales for Ross products.
I am looking for "Infant Formula" sales numbers not the total product sales.
Sincerely,

Ross products are divided into Pediatric Nutritionals and Adult Nutritionals.
Sales for Pediatric Nutritionals in 2003 were $1,093 (dollars in millions).
Sales for adult Nutritionals in 2003 were $809 (dollars in millions).
The SEC filings do not provide a further breakdown of the Ross Product category.
